Sonnenstraße blocked from Lenbachplatz onwards

EDITED: I just got this off the radio: Sonnenstrasse is blocked between Sendlinger Tor Platz and Lenbachplatz due to a defective streetcar cable, traffic is backed up the length of the street to Maximiliansplatz. Lines 19 and 27 are interrupted and being serviced by buses. More to follow.
I suspect that a streetcar is blocking the ford between Ottostrasse and Sonnenstrasse.

So no service on the streetcar lines 19 (from Maxmonument to Hauptbahnhof) and 27 (Ottostrasse to Sendlinger-Tor-Platz), please use other transport, they think they will have it cleared by 6pm.

19 at Sendlinger Tor, I don't think so!

It's either 27 alone or also involving the 16/17/18 as well but thanks for theads up I'll switch to the You-Barn.

OK, if it is Sonnenstrasse at Lenbachplatz then yes.

Hey, radio gave false info! Anyway, avoid Sonnenstrasse like the plague. I always do anyway, hate the place.

It's a buggar getting into Sendlinger Tor tight now on the tram as there are 3 lines terminating there at the minute.
Back to full service for the GBV next week though *freu*

16 and 17 were delayed ay Hbf around 1800 anyway

Not finding anything on the usual websites for the real cause.

The official msg from MVV around 15:17 was

The only place something like that can happen is when something goes wrong at the track near karlsplatz stachus.

Lets see if more gets posted overnight

It was a tight squeeze into Sendlinger Tor tonight, need some lubricaton there.

An E27 tram was indeed immobilised on the track at the Karlsplatz Stachus stop. I got there at 5:10, waited 25 minutes and then gave up. I don't know how long it was down for but it was back at 7 when I needed to take it the other way.
