prob with berbatov and keane is that they're not in the FA cup anymore - they should play every other game mind you. What's the gen with UEFA games - do they count?
sharpe
Jan 30 2008, 2:10 pm
nope, uefa does not count. i would not worry about that. there are not many games left in FA cup anyway, plus you never know who is playing there as Arsenal, Liverpool etc.. use their reserves mostly.

Jan 30 2008, 2:14 pm
No, only Premier League and FA Cup count. I've always been puzzled as to why they don't include the League Cup?
EDIT: I've fired off a mail and asked them.

Yeah, I don't understand about the league cup either - it's the biggest trophy of the lot!

Biggest Trophy in Football is the LDV Vans Trophy mate, which none of you plastic gay teams are allowed to enter. FACT!

Berbatov and Lennon dream of holding the LDV Vans Trophy aloft mate. They dream of it.
Granted, those are nightmares, but still...

Answer from The Telegraph
QUOTE
The Carling Cup used to score points in the TFFO Squad Manager for 1 season and this was negatively received by almost everyone who played the game judging by the feedback.
The TFF is a much more popular and mainstream game than TFFO and to make the game as accessible to everyone and easy to use as possible, the Telegraph has always made the decision to focus on just the Premiership and FA Cup for TFF points scoring. The discussions for each new season and how TFF can be improved usually have a few discussions on whether to add the Carling Cup to TFF points scoring, there is a very slim chance it could happen next season.
Now I definitely see no good reason why it isnt included, it scores no different to the FA Cup.

Boring? Boring???

I'm fuckin' insensed, browned or cheesed off, enraged, exasperated, fuming, furious, hacked off, infuriated, irate, miffed, peed off, peeved, riled, rousted, tee'd off and/or wrathful. Benitez has been acting like a cunt all season. I kept faith with Torres all season. In the end I could stand it no longer and reluctantly dropped Torres... at the exact same moment he chooses to score his first hat-trick of the season. I used to be indifferent. I will now be hating Liverpool until that Spanish twat (the one with the beard) is gone.

It's always gonna be that way isn't it cos most of the teams have the usual suspects like Ronaldo, Gerrard etc so you need someone to be different.

Some very interesting transfers. Jimbo dropping Keane and Berbatov. Sin dropping Torres and Dempsey (who got the MoM this week). 3 Lions dropping Arbeola the week he starts to play and Komland still keeps Robinson as keeper but finally his faith in Drogba will start paying

Why do I feel like Liverpool this season? Have I been a right Benitez? Whatever. It's miracle time for me to be able to win this year. 05/6 Runner-up, 06/7 Third, 07/8 Who knows?
However, I'd like to introduce something I've seen online in another FF game I've been playing. Brilliant idea. Fantasy Cup. You don't have to do anything. It works like this:
1. Fantasy Cup is a straight knock-out competition.
2. 'Byes' may be drawn for the first round.
3. Fantasy Cup games score dependent upon player points awarded as a course of the Fantasy Football League Week number.
4. Fantasy Cup does not score points from real FA Cup games.
4. The Week numbers are chosen for when the rounds will take place before the season begins.
5. Games are over 2 legs.
6. In the event of a tie a 'replay' will follow with the next weeks scores.
7. If equal, the higher number of goals scored in all 3 games wins.
8. Prize of a % of the pot as agreed.
Aim: Bit of fun to give another random chance for some lucky manager with the minimum of effort. It starts and ends earlier than the FA Cup too. It's all over mid-February, meaning Fantasy Footie League doesn't get skewed too much towards players still in the real FA Cup... and of course, more players are still eligible.
Whaddayafink?
Wanted to bump this during the daylight.

Not a bad idea at all, plus I'm sure something like this could easily be added to the Excel sheet.*
*Though I've decided that this year is the last year I'm running this, I'll happily pass on the file and reigns to someone else for next season.

Fair enough mate - all of us that have played this for the last few years owe you (and JJ) a debt of gratitude - so cheers guys. I fear that this season will be my last on TT FF too.
Anyway - cheers gents. Always a pleasure and never a chore etc etc.

Me too Dave, updating the file is mostly copying & pasting numbers from the website. My life has become a lot easier largely thanks to changes that JJ has made to the file.
Next season doesnt even have to be using the Telegraph site, if someone knows of another Fantasy Football set up thats better, then people can go with that.

Will you please shut up about Torres? I carry his deadweight all season and then the second I drop the Spanish bastard for being pants he scores two hat tricks in a fuckin' row. I hate this fuckin' game, so I do. It's so predictable. Next season I'm picking Arse players just so's I can weave my touch of death on them.

Don't worry Sin - he's wrong. Since West Ham are still under investigation for the Tevez affair goals scored by West Ham players, or against West Ham players, will all be retracted at the end of the season. I, personally, have seen some of the evidence concerning the alleged payments to Tevez by MSI and JSI and they've not got a leg to stand on. So Torres scored 0 pts yesterday.
