I would also disqualify Solent Gale and his wife, but that's because I know them and I know it would annoy the hell out of them!
This season is a mystery to me, just when I think I'm recovering I get stuffed by the FA Cup results, bloody Gerrard!
I guess I need the African Cup of Nations to bite, or a plague of something horrible to strike...!

Yer not gonna believe this. I don't believe it will last but I'm joint 3rd as we speak. No. I mean Lions has amassed 53 points (and they're still playin) and catapulted up to 7th in the league.

QUOTE (Sin @ Jan 16 2008, 3:52 pm)

Just checked the Telegraph FF website. Last nights points are being marked up for Week 24.
Our rules state that transfers come into effect Wednesday.
QUOTE (sharpe @ Jan 16 2008, 4:39 pm)

I agree. We should not change rules now. Same happened for the transfers of 1st of Jan.
I disagree. I'd change the rules to state that transfers are effective the following week based on the Telegraph's allocation of points. As an example, a transfer on Friday would be effective in Week 25 -- and we leave it up to the Telegraph to determine whether the week begins on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Hell, we let them decide MotM already.
We changed the transfer rules midway last year, so this is not unprecedented. Anything up until the date of the rule change would be subject to the old rules of course, but I think we should live and die by the Telegraph's allocation of points to a given week rather than forcing 3 Lions to backtrack it all the time.

Telegraph updates points every day. They update 1 day after any game. (not even a day, usually around 11 am) If you look at my post (# 672), i am asking the same question (if the transfer would be eligible on Tuesday). The reason for that was, i was thinking to put Gerrard in team if he would be eligible. I dont think it is fair to change the rules right after a game. If a rule will be changed it should be posted here before it becomes effective.

The Telegraph may update points every day, but they also group those points by week -- that's the important point. I'm advocating changing the rule with sufficient notice (1-2 weeks) so that everyone can adjust accordingly.
In reality JJ I think 3 Lions has to go with what The Telegraph is doing otherwise it'll get out of hand and become a full time job for the poor bugger. It's only a game remember.

I'm with whatever's easiest for 3Lions provided there's a bit of notice (i.e. not adopted retrospectively). 3L does a fair bit of work to keep this running and it's only fair that we cut the guy some slack - it's not like he's being paid (though on the basis of last night's points he may well win it!).

As I explained in post #742, at the start of the year the FF site only updated on a Wednesday and is always slow at the start of the season. Yes there was a rule change at this time last year and its clear I need to tweak it again.
So as of this week, if you send me a transfer, it will take effect from the following FF week. If you send me a transfer now, it would be active wk25.
Now about Solent Gales extra points, I've moved the wk24 pts for Keane and Hunt in to wk23. So he is back at 845pts now.

I'm updating the file to include last nights game. It's also been brought to my attention that there are a few errors in some of the player points, I've located each and every one and am updating each one, so the file will be corrected and updated today. I dont see anyhwere where there is a major error, so no one should worry...he says!
EDIT: DONE!! Below is the updated table. I've gone over the file with a very fine tooth comb and corrected every minor error.

I think Telegraph made a mistake on Adebayor. He scored 2 and got the MoM and got only 12 points? Somehow they forgot to credit him for MoM. I am expecting a correction from them later this week.
3 Lions
Jan 28 2008, 11:35 am
Who else got MoM at weekend? It looks like the telegraph hasnt added them at all?
sharpe
Jan 28 2008, 11:43 am
They screwed big time. They showed 2 MoMS for some games. For Liverpool, Chelsea, Boro and Pompey games they chose 2 different Moms for each game and forgot to choose even 1 for Arsenal game (This morning they said it is Adebayor, however no points given). For example in Chelsea game, they chose SWP in one report and they chose Anelka in another (and credited him in FF) and now they say Carvalho
Boro :Huth
Liverpool: Benayoun
Arsenal: Adebayor
Pompey: Diarra
Chelsea :Carvalho

Who got it for United v Spurs? To my mind it should have been Keane, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they awarded it to Tevez. Or even bloody Dawson knowing them.

Jan 28 2008, 12:21 pm
Ronaldo obviously. But looks like they did not credit him as well
Edit : It is Owen Hargreaves. Another 2 MOMs here, 1 report shows Ronaldo other Hargreaves
Jimbo
Jan 28 2008, 12:30 pm
Hargreaves deserves it a lot more than Ronaldo - Ronaldo netted twice, but once was from the spot, and he was pretty lacklustre for 85 of the 90mins. How many points did that balloon score in the City game?

Thank you for your recent correspondence.
Adebayor has received 15 points for week 25. When games are played at the weekend in the FA Cup, the points for man of the match are not updated until the points update on Monday morning I'm afraid.
The 3 points have been added to all the players who were awarded man of the match at the weekend.

It is indeed getting though as all squads now are becoming very similiar. Ronaldo, Gerrard, Adebayor now are not making you happy when they score. This is why your Berbatov-Keane duo looks very good selection to me. I also find making transfers from Chelsea very risky, as when African bunch returns your man can jump to the bench.
