Thinking philosophically, it wasn't that bad a weekend for me. No injuries. By this time last season I had to make two transfers for injuries to Riise and Kitson. Bloody glad I didn't pick Kitson this year. Out on a straight red 37 seconds after coming on as a sub.

For all those making transfers, the cut off this week is Friday at 5pm for the change to take place next Wednesday the 22nd. Any received after 5pm Friday, will go through on the 29th.
Also, I'm off this Wednesday through to next Monday, so I wont be able to send the first weeks file till then. I'll send the new and improved excel file* to everyone now, so you can see what changes have been made to the sheet and also to see everyones teams.
*Thanks to Joliet Jake there for making my life easier.

Aug 13 2007, 2:22 pm
He's not listed as injured, you're problem is that because he has been out for so long, Benitez has tended to make plans without Kewell. He will get games as Liverpool, like Chelsea favour a rotation policy.

Aug 14 2007, 6:48 am
I think if Fulham had won they would have given it to Warner. Usually they tend to give it to anyone from the winning team. Given the fact that he was a reserve keeper, who came to know 10mins before the match that he was going to play, he did an excellent job.

Which websites do you follow for match squads? I am using eurosport and premier leauge official website but both of them are miserable to deliver list of players and details of games. Any idea?
BBC Sport online.
I was considering making some transfers, but I don't actually have any injuries in my team. If I transfer Ronaldo out it won't take effect until next Wednedsay anyway, by which time he'll only miss two games because the first missed game is already passed, and two games don't make a season. What I have learnt from the past two seasons is not to go chopping and changing and using up my transfers too quickly. Last year I stormed into a Christmas lead of over 50 points and did it with 10 men (Marlon King was 'carried' injured for the best part of two whole months). I've always wondered how much better I would have done by the end of the season if I had still had a transfer available and could have scored with an eleventh man. Sod's Law has proved conclusively that as soon as you transfer out the one you believe is underachieving, the bastard will go and stick in a hat-trick as soon as he's out of your team. Happened to me twice.

Thanks Sin. I am moving Barton out as he is injured (back in September) and dont know if he will make the team when he is back. Also i am considering to sell Tuncay as he did not perform well in the first 2 games and Boro is now buying Mido. But i will wait some more before that.

Aug 17 2007, 11:29 am
You can be sure Barton will make the team but it's the time out per season due to disciplinary problems that will count. Last season he was still worthwhile as he got lots of MOTM's in a shit team and also took the penalties.
This season? Dunno.

What the fuck is goin on in the Derby !!! Lucky Lucky @#$!@ !!!
Not good.

Chelsea and Liverpool's odds on winning the Premiership have undoubtedly just shortened. I reckon there are a few dark horses this season, including Newcastle, The Arse (who we'd hoped were going to have a shite season) and, dare I say it, City by current form.
I reckon the problem will sort itself as new players style of play begins to be understood, and they in turn understand the old player's play. Nani and Hargreaves need more time, and Tevez has pretty much been thrown into the starting line-up unknown to his team mates due to Rooney's and Saha's injuries. If we're fielding Fraizer Campbell in such a big match from the youth team, it shows we've got limitations in attack. Then you've got a host of injuries in addition to strikers: Anderson, (our influential captain) Neville, Fangzhuo, Foster (who I rate very highly) and Ji-Sung. Then we've got Ronaldo's stupid red card and three match ban.
I still say we're in with a shout though. It's a long season, and my bet is that both Liverpool and Chelsea will have slip-ups purely because I predict this will be a far more competitive season than the last few, with as many as six clubs with a shot at the title.

I must say Hargreaves looked pretty good yesterday. The tenacity in his tackling was the one thing we were missing in the previous seasons. Tevez was also looking pretty sharp and Nani was wasteful. The football was excellent. We hit the post, missed the goal by a couple of inches 3-4 times. It just seemed to be one of those days. But Chelsea Liverpool draw was the best result we could havehoped for.
And ya, Lehmans second howler in as many matches did lift my spirits up a lil bit
