LR, what if he's doing this ... with you in mind?

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I don't know how to start a new one. I noticed mentioned here 'Housing association' which gives you tips about how to combat things like unfair rents and noise etc. Does anyone know if there is one for Witten where I live.

Apologies for sneaking in here

It's interesting you would ask this as that's the same question my husband posed to me and I couldn't fathom it. In fact, just the thought give me a nauseous feeling. That's gross! I haven't spoken to my neighbor yet and probably it would have been best for both me and my husband to go down and speak with him. But now my husband is gone for 4.5 months and won't be back until March. So in a few minutes I'm going to go down and talk with him and I will post back later. My approach will be to say to him something like this "I can hear EVERYTHING that comes from your apartment. Then I will tell him that I can hear him moaning and groaning in the morning and I don't like hearing this and I would like him to stop. Then as being a good neighbor is a two way street I'm going to ask him if he is bothered by any noise with me being above him. Actually I will ask him this first. Before I go down there I want to check with the lady who use to live in my apartment who now lives two floors up. Maybe that's why she moved, but I was told she moved upstairs to a smaller apartment to save some money. The good thing is he speaks fluent English.

Well you may want to hide some of the details.

Chesswoog, there's the MieterInnenverein in Witten. The fee for becoming a member and getting advice, help with letters etc., is 5 € per month, with a minimum membership of 2 years. Perhaps check first if the language barrier can be overcome.
