T-DSL 6000 dropped connection problems

I recently got a 6mb T-Com Surf & comfort tingy and it keeps going offline and then coming back on disrupting downloads etc..
Also,I can"t seem ti get the telefonie part working. In a screen in the router configuration panel for Telefonie it asks for Zugansdaten and a web password. Should I have recieved this in addition to the zugansdaten for the DSL internet connection?

Any ideas anyone?

Have you got a new splitter from Tcom?

I don't know if it's a new splitter. They gave it to us about four weeks ago in the shop. Do you really think it could be the splitter?

A lot of the old splitters are not rated for higher DSL, was certainly the problem I had

Also try plugging your phone straight into the wall to see if it works - mine didn't (although DSL worked) and after a call to T-Com everything was magically fixed...
