Getting a forklift truck licence

Where, how, and which type to get

so after months of being let down by drunk, unreliable and incompetant fork lift drivers ive decided to go get myself a licence to operate a fork lift.

but...which kind to get. i know dekra and tüv do courses, which can cost up to €350, but ive often been offered the chance to do innerbetrieblicher staplerscheinkurse for as low as €35. the downside obviously being that youre not licenced to drive a fork lift anywhere else except where you learned.

obviously, unless the arbeitsamt shows up and starts asking questions, or im involved in an accident, a cheapo would be fine. but im not cheap, and im not interested in driving schwarz. anyone know their way around in this area?

also, insurance details would be handy. do i need my own forklift drivers insurance?

thanks

apologies for varying from the usual "where can i find chocolate cookies like my granny made in 1842 in munich" query.

Plenty of food for thought there for you Berny!

You need to get in touch with your local Handelskammer and they will tell you.
