Long-term car rental, i.e. for a couple of months

We are moving to Köln next week! Very excited...

Anyway, we will be leasing a car (automatic), but it turns out we won't have it till September. The dealer has offered us a rental during that time, but the price is quite high (200 euros per month more than the lease!). Does anyone know of an affordable car rental place where we could do a "long-term" two-month rental like this? We would need an automatic...

Surely there must be another dealer you could arrange to lease a car from sooner? Since you're getting poor service, why not take your business elsewhere?

I don't think we're getting poor service at all, but that is a llong story and would rather not bore everyone with the details! We're getting a very good deal (due to connections). It is just that this particular car typically requires a wait. But thanks anyway!

I think you are getting a good deal for a rental (any rental for that matter) automatic. If you were to go somewhere else (rental company) you would be paying at least 4-600 more a month. A two month rental is not really considered a long term rental, anywhere from 6 - 12 months is a long term.

Hi--I realised later my post might be not clear: we're paying 200 euros OVER (on top of) what we will pay monthly for the lease. Don't know the exact amount of the lease since my husband's been organising that and is not here at the moment to ask what it is. 200 a month would be great!
