Hi there, can anyone recommend a good Toytown equivalent for France? I've seen a number of French expat webforums but none which were nearly as comprehensive as this one...which is odd since France is a more popular expat destination. Any suggestions? Merci bien!

Not odd, they just dont have the evil genius stylings of Mad King Editor Bob. I reckon you'll hear from our Franco saavy contingent soon enough. Dont know of anything other than Expatica for forums and Meetup/Craigslist for connecting with people. The latter might be useful in finding a place to live, buying/selling junk as well. Goodluck to you.

I can only advise you based on my old experience of France pre internet days.

France has always been a more expat destination. The Dordogne Boom of which we were a part ked to thousands iof us crazy Brits buying old shells of buildings which the locals were only too glad to sell on. Many of them were full of old wine vats and sic feet high with chicken poo as ours was. The whole scene I think is different as expats have been there longer than here. There is at least in the Dordogne a Cricket Club, a Ladies' Circle, and in Perigueux there was a n English pub. Not sure what it's like now though.

(bugger I am supposed to have flounced!)

Wasn't sure where this topic should go.

I've just accepted a job in Paris and am starting to go through the painful process (again) of looking for apartments, finding the best bank account, etc. Maybe some TT’ers have lived in Paris/France before and know of a similar expat website?

Since you're moving from Munich to France, you could try the forum Munich-French Connection. Even if they don't have a section for those moving TO France, at the very least they may know if there's a forum which can help you. Plus they might have tips on moving companies to help you from Munich. Bonne chance!

Bonjour Paris is the closest to what you're looking for and most active that I know of.
