Removal lorry costs from London to Munich

Estimates for hiring one large truck

I need a guesstimate of removal costs London to Munich - maybe someone has moved from the UK recently. I figure it would need one large lorry like this

Appreciate the price can vary a lot, but I need this information asap, and have already contacted some removal firms but they are naturally reluctant to give me quotes over the phone.

Thanks very much.

Sorry to ask some questions mellow.gif
Did you shop around? Were you happy with the service? Can you recommend (PM) the provider?

We did London to Munich and it was about 2000Eur - But then we die have also a Pick-up from Coventry in the Midlands and they did store the stuff for 3 weeks. It was also 4 years ago so price might have changed.

We used Britannia - a franchise that seemed to do it the cheapest. We did not have too much stuff so took the "Round Robbin" option meaning that they hook you up with someone else that is moving near to where you are going (Or as with us at least on the continent as the others were in Paris and Spain!). Here however you do need to be flexible on when you need the stuff as you have to wait for others to be available.

Not sure how muich help this will be... D

I moved from London to Munich in Frebruary, and it cost about GBP1,500 (before insurance). I had about 35 boxes, i think, no furniture. The shipment came as part of a 'part load' which means that I had a little less flexibility about delivery dates, as they tried to group deliveries together. I also had them pack everything up for me in London and unpack some stuff here and take away the boxes, paper, etc, which was helpful. Most places will give you a quote for packing yourself and having them do the packing. It took 2 guys 3 hours to pack up my flat.

I got three quotes: from Allied Pickfords, Cadogan Tate and someone else that I unfortunately can't remember. I found that no one would even give me an indication of price without coming out and having a look at my stuff. I used Cadogan Tate in the end, and was very very pleased with them, both with the person that i dealt with in the office and with the guys that came and did the pick-up and delivery.

If you PM me, I'm happy to pass on the name of the person that I spoke with at Cadogan Tate.

I moved back to the UK in April. For a dedicated truck like the one pictured to Munich and back to SE England was £4000. This was for an empty truck out, and just my stuff back.

We paid (I mean the company paid) about 3000 Pounds for a move from Scotland to Munich. The truck was a little bit smaller.
It was with Brittania. We got a few quotes, each time a guy would have to come around to our house and assess the amount of stuff we had.
Don't be afraid to shop abound and bargin with them. The Brittania guy knocked about 1000 pounds off his price original price because I found some local firm who was going to do it much cheaper.

This move wasn't with a dedicated truck. Brittania came to our place in Scotland and packed, then took it all to a central facility and somebody else brought it to Munich. Took about 1.5 weeks.

We are moving this month from Munich to London. Most quotes were a bit more than 5K euros. If we pack some boxes ourselves, the cost will be about 4.3k euros.

careful if you pack yourself - you usually then arent covered for breakages etc if they havent packed for you.
