King Cortés is back in Munich after a long time! Flamenco at its best!

Joaquín Cortés
Joaquín Cortés' family moved to Madrid and when he was twelve years old he started his dancing studies. He was accepted into the Spanish National Ballet at the age of fifteen and he soon was promoted to soloist. He travelled all round the world with this company, performing in theatres such as the Metropolitan Opera House in New York or the Congress Kremlin Palace in Moscow.

Collaborations with Alicia Keys at the Grammy Awards in 2001 or with Jennifer Lopez at a live telecast concert that she offered in Puerto Rico made him even more popular.

The new program „mi soledad“
"Mi Soledad" (my soltitude) is a different show, where the music and singing of flamenco take the lead role. Joaquín Cortés is not frightened by fusion, the mixing of different styles, and once again, Joaquín Cortés takes risks and drinks from different sources to create something new and different

It's a fusion of different musical rhythms; Jazz, Cuban music, classical music, not forgetting the main star: flamenco. In “Mi Soledad� Joaquin offers us a journey to his most personal emotions. With the subtitle “Solea� showing the artistic direction of this new show, it is an intimate journey, the main emotion is that of loneliness, but a loneliness that is understood and, charged with intimacy, is a manifestation of the man as an individual. Through the vehicles of the music and of his unmistakable trademark “zapateado�, Cortes takes us straight to the soul of his art, using a rich palette full of the colours of flamenco.

The costumes have been designed specially for this show by Jean Paul Gaultier, keeping as usual his simple and elegant style, with basics colours such as black, white and dark red, colour of blood and wine. Colours that keep in touch with the harmony of the show.
