Hi,
Are there any good free sports groups for women in the Freising area? I would be interested in soccer, ultimate frisbee, touch rugby, basketball or some sort of team sport. I really don't want to travel to munich on a regular basis. Anybody know of anything?

I have a friend who plays soccer on a regular basis and unless you are her send me a pm and I could connect you to another. There is also a whole wack of sports fields along the isar (in Freising) you might want to cycle past there and check it out.

Sorry, don't know any Iain (if that is your name). I am pretty new here. What kind of group is it?

Thats good then. It's just as far as I know a bunch of girls that get together and play football (soccer). I don't think they take it really seriously and are more there to have a bit of exercise and fun. I will pm you with more details.

have you tried TSV Freising ? for 8EUR per month, it is nearly free.

Hey, that's the one our archery club is part of! It's not a team sport, but you could do it anyway. smile.gif

Hey, thanks for all the help! I will look into the link and the soccer team.

Why oh why can't I send anyone a PM (The injustice of it all!!!)
Phew - sorry for the raving straight off but it was getting a bit much.

All this comes about because I tried to send a message to Aelfwynn happy.gif

I took up archery for a few short weeks when I was a student in Singapore and its something I have been wanting to do since I came to Munich. I even went online and looked up archery clubs and found one in Freising. The catch? The whole website is in (of course) German and my current level just about lets me order coffee and cake.

@Aelfwynn: Do you think you could help me with details, I get the impression that the club you talk about is also the one in Freising? I live in Neufahrn so it would be perfect.

Sorry for going on a tangent but I did try to write this as a private message.

Cheers all.

Ah short addition

@dftm - I had similar concerns (??!) about traveling to Munich as routine (although I would do it if there was no other way to team sport!). If you were into trying to form a sort of club in this area I would volunteer to help smile.gif

I can also recommend Archery - there is something very liberating about hearing the arrow zoom away biggrin.gif

Can you at least see pms sent by other people? If so, I'll pm you my email. Yes, the one I'm talking about is in Freising, it's a part of TSV Jahn Freising. I also find that website frustrating, even though I can read quite a bit of german. biggrin.gif

Do you do traditional or olympic archery?

We can even arrange for you to come along as a guest for a practice to get a feel for the place. It's EUR 3 for the insurance for the day, IIRC.

I sent you a PM !!! (cackling gleefully)
