Hello fellow TTers,
Hoping someone out there is in the 'know': With better weather scheduled sometime soon, am fantasizing about some outdoor dance venues. In my last place of residence, there were Sunday afternoon get togethers in local parks with DJs and open air dancing. Basically, I am interested in going to hear some funky tunes and getting a boogie on but also being able to bring along a baby... Is there anything out there in Munich that might suit the bill? (I already know that afternoon DJs for parents and kids like Baby Loves to Rock is asking too much). Thanks in advance for any clues/ Tollwood type venue would work too, I guess.

What kind of music? At weekends in the Hopfengarten in Westpark they have a live band playing swingy stuff that people dance to. Some pretty talented movers & shakers there too.

Works for me as I will dance to just about anything: fiddle music, electronica, punk, hip hop, latin, etc. Swing dance could be difficult but I am sure I can work out a move incorporating the baby over my shoulder or something...

volksgarten on rosenheimerstr. does music outdoors on sundays... house-y electro/techno. but don't be fooled by the name... it's not a garden as such. it's more outdoor club than park-with-music. which means you have people coming out for a sunday evening boogie, and others who are still going from the night before (or maybe even the night before that...). not sure it's the best place to bring a baby (wonder if the baby pays cover?), but could be an option.

Cheers for that. Probably can't bring a baby out to a club/bar atmosphere til the no smoking rule comes into effect though.
