Ombudsman services in Germany
Where to report complaints against businesses
I've been having problems with a construction company. Besides consulting with a lawyer I would like to complain to something like an Ombudsman, does such a service exist in Germany? Maybe I am paranoid that we are being taken advantage of because of our poor German. Was I naive to assume that Germans aren't crooked? While on the subject of construction, can anyone recommend a good sound-proofing for drywall?
The Handwerkskammer for Mittelfranken has a person who is in charge of customer complaints, no idea if she speaks english, but at least it's worth a try:

Oh yeah. Construction is full of crooks, so is real estate. Get everything in writing, do your research, trust nobody. Voice of experience.
