After briefly flirting with the idea of entering the
real das perfekte Dinner (filled out an online application ages ago & they just called me to do a casting

), I've decided I've more important stuff to be doing than worrying about what the sarky commentator might say about my cooking/tischdeko/apartment, or how to fit 4 guests plus cameras and crew into my little Essecke.
But I still like the idea of cooking and eating with a group of new people...
Would anyone be interested in a TT "perfektes Dinner"? Or running dinner? (different people cook the different courses of a meal - each course is eaten in a different person's home)
It's a good way to get to know people, try out some different styles of cooking and generally have a bit of a laugh!

They had the same show in the UK originally and I loved it. Very interesting idea dublindoll.

It's been done on TT before but it's still a good idea. If Hams is cooking I'm dining.

What's been done before? A "come dine with me/perfektes Dinner"-style event or a running dinner?

Flattery will get you everywhere - maybe even a free dinner.

If we get enough people together a running dinner would be great. For those who've never done it before it goes something along these lines:
Partipicants work in pairs to prepare either a starter, main course or dessert. In groups of 6, each course is eaten in the home in which it was prepared. Each course is also eaten with a different group of people. So, at the end of the night, you've eaten in three different places, with 12 different people. Clear enough explanation?
I took part in this once as a student in Ulm and a great night was had by all...

hi
I am new to TT, living in Munich for 4 months now and yesterday finally slept for the first night in my new flat. I am interested in this running dinner, but at the moment I don't have a stove and a table&chairs...
let me know when this dinner is planned and I can be in a group of starter or desert (when you don't need a cooking stove). I live in Maxvorstadt. I am available most evenings, except from 18.7 - 1.8 (busy with work + vacation).

I think it would be best to have this on the weekend if that would suit people. I would suggest sometime in the end of August - how about Saturday 25th? I'll do the organising if people sign up!!
@Maja: Dont worry, only one of the pair cooking together needs to have a kitchen/cooking facilities

Lucky me the stove came, at no extra charge, with the intrinsical need of cooking learning.
After many years I am still alive, have not starved. It proofs that I cook, if not tasty, at least nutritive

This sounds like fun! But like Maja I don't have access to cooking facilities, or a place to eat for that matter, but I'd love to join in the fun!

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who's pm'd me their details so far.
To have a running dinner we need a minimum of 18 people - so far we have 8 - so keep signing up people by PM'ing me with your email address. The sign-up deadline is August 14th.
You can also enter this in twos and choose a partner to cook with if you wish.
The event should begin around 17.30, and will finish with a meetup somewhere in the city.
Promises to be an evening of fun and frolics!
