Visa extension beyond one year for Australians

Tips for freelancers wanting to stay in Germany

Hi all, I'm starting my own business in berlin in the next month. I have a one year work visa that runs out in Jan - and I want to look at getting an extension visa so I can stay on. I think the easiest way would be to register as a freelancer and then just do a token amount of freelance work for other businesses.

Does anyone have experience with getting an extension visa as a freelancer from au / nz / the US while in Germany? Is it worth employing a immigration lawyer?

You should do a search, this has been covered before. Needless to say, it's going to be tough for you and I wouldn't hold out hope..

Where is this other thread?

I'm in the same boat & wondering just if its worth applying as a freelancer or not?
Specifically if its easier as a NZer.. which I hear it might be.

I guess its best to somehow include fluent english in your job requirements huh?
