Japanfest - annual Japanese festival

On Sunday the 15th of July the annual Japanese festival takes place in the Englischergarten behind Haus der Kunst just off Prinzregentenstrasse.
Once again there are demonstrations and displays of lots of different aspects of Japanese life and culture from art, food, drumming, theatre and martial arts to name but a few.
It can get quite crowded down there so get there early to have a good look around.

Wie immer findet auch in diesem Jahr am dritten Sonntag im Juli das große Japanfest im Englischen Garten in München statt.

Bühnendarbietungen: Japanischer Frauenchor, Trommelvorführung und Tänze der Kinder des Japanischen Instituts, Tanzvorführung der Japanischen Internationalen Schule München, Vorführung des Maximiliansgymnasiums, Manga-Cosplay.
Hauptattraktion: Flötenensemble „LYNX� aus Japan

Ausstellungen und Vorführungen: Bonsai, Ikebana, Japanische Internationale Schule, Shoji-Fertigung, Japanische Schwerter, Keramik in Japan, Manga und Anime (mit Video), Shakuhachi-Flötenspiel, Trommeln, Teezeremonie u.a.

Sport (Demonstrationen ca. alle 30 Minuten): Aikido, Judo, Ninjutsu, Jiu Jitsu, Karate, Kendo, Kyudo.

Zum Mitmachen: Go-Brettspiel, Shogi (Japanisches Schach), Ikebana.

Japanische Restaurants: Imbiß- und Verkaufsstände.

I've managed to miss this the several times as well, distinct possibility of making it this year, the cosmic gravel being in alignment or whatever.
