Getting a kitchen designed

Recommended firms, and DIY computer software

Right then,

Now I've got the veg garden I am naturally interested in learning how to cook the stuff.

So we need a new kitchen. It is 20 years old and needs to be renewed. The oven is highly inefficient and one ring is bust. Fridge is okay but wouldnz mind an extra freezer bit in there. Dishwasher is good. Storage - could do with more.

NOw I've heard that companies like Roller or Ikea measure it all up then design it on their computer. Do any free kitchen design programs exist?

Do any firms specialise in Landhaus style as this our taste?

Right I'm off to kindergarten to fetch daughter and I want some answers when I get back!

You can do it yourself via a download from the Ikea website.

Nice to see that the polite approach to question asking still exists. You mentioned your kids, but you forget to make a reference to kitchens in the Gulf. Poor showing.

I think I've mentioned this to you already, but Biller in Eching bei Landshut (not the Eching near Freising) has furniture in the Landhaus style, and generally goes for quality rather than price.
Freising
ALNO kitchens are good but rather expensive. Anyway for planning your kitchen at home, they have a very good software here:
http://kitchenplanner.alno.de/
Use it, print the 3D view and visit your local "Küchenstudio" with it. As the sizes and designs are more or less the same, no matter what brand.

Btw when I bought my new kitchen last month, I first visited "Möbel Biller" in Eching. I wasnt satisfied. I asked a local specialist for kitchens in Freising. He went into my new appartement, measured the room size, etc and brought colour samples to find a perfect match. His advice was sound, he was flexible on the price and in the end I got a better kitchen for less money. If there were any problems with the kitchen, he would be only 5 min away and always glad to help. I guess what I am saying is, local dealers might offer better service for the same price as the big furniture stores. Use the yellow pages to find one. (www.gelbe-seiten.de)
