Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if there is anything like TK Maxx or TJ Maxx, Marshalls here in Hamburg. I am looking for either outlet shops that sell clothes and / or home stuff anywhere in the Hamburg area.

Does anyone have any good tips for outlet/discount shopping in Hamburg? I've found the TK Maxx, but they seem not to have as much designer stuff as the American version. My husband found a great suit, but the women's section had a lot of polyester.

Do you know of any places to shop for quality stuff - factory outlets or clearance shops similar to Nordstrom Rack and Filene's Basement?

Hey! Do you have something against polyester? heh! heh!

There are some crazy regulations on competition in the retail sector which don't allow for discounts, or at least that's my understanding of it. Look for the Summer-schluss-verkauf. The end of summer sales is when the prices in all the stores are deeply discounted and shopping becomes a combat sport. I've heard that people organize "outlet shopping" day trips to Bremen, which is outside HH, which tells me that the lack of outlet shopping is a Hamburg thing, not Germany wide.

Speaking of clothes anyone know where the best place to get nice long t-shirts from , the problem I have is that I can find t-shirts that are really baggy and fit well but they end just before my waistband.

For the tall and the big sizes for men: Hirmer in city centre, opposite to Rathausmark (town hall square).

TK Maxx is in the saddest mall in Billstedt, but still worth the drive:

I'm going to have to check out this Bremen lead - it sound promising.

There is also a TK Maxx in Schoenefeld. I prefer this one myself cos it's not far from the A7 and in a nicer mall.

I've heard good things about the Bremen outlet village too!

I've been to the Bremen outlet and it was ok, not that much of a price change though, and just acouple of stores worth visiting, you might get lucky and find a couple of diamonds in the muck but still it's not a trip I'd repeat. I will add though (if you have the time) there's another outlet south of Germany by Stuttgart in Metzingen, THAT one is def worth visiting and it has a bigger variety of stores and better sale prices.

Was just in the TK Maxx yesterday and it was great to find great deals on great clothes. Picked up dresses for the girls you can definitely not get anywhere else since there SOOOO cute smile.gif
