You, reasonably educated and somewhat career-minded (or at least in spurts), find yourself spending long days in the home, self-teaching the art of Kuchen construction, cursing the dearth of garbage disposals in Deutschland, wondering how bad it would be, really, if those tightly shut doors lining your entry hall were to find themselves flung open for the afternoon. You browse the supermarket aisles endlessly, pondering the intricacies of "bio" and wondering just how "trocken" a 4-euro Gewürtztraminer can be. You recently ironed a tablecloth. Your German language skills are kindergarten-level at best. The English-speaking cat/dog has grown bored of your debates.
I am a journalist from New York City, married to a Bavarian-born artist, once fairly versed in current events and wine lists, now getting off on the whitening powers of Persil, considering learning how to make Schweinshax'n (I feel this could be perilous), and wondering if my feet are widening in my Hausschuhen. I am in Munich only part-time, but hope to find some semblance of a life here. If you would like to join my LoAHf (Hausmannen, people with jobs, indeed anyone! welcome), post or PM me and I will organize a meetup somewhere lively and central.
I can't seem to stop baking, so alternately, if anyone is anywhere near
Grünwald (as if) and would like to come for kaffeeklatsch, that is a possibility as well.

Ok Ladies and TexMunich! Have I been missed?
I am back from the States! Can you believe it! It seemed to take forever! And now, I feel like I am on vacation after spending the last month packing the home and fixing things around it!
Since I am back, I need to catch up on ‘things and events.” So, when is the next lunch meeting? I think we need to set something up!
Gen: How is the job? Are you off on Friday’s still?
Frau Fruit: How was your visit back home?
Vanessa: How are you feeling? I saw the cutest baby things? You are going to need to find out what you’re having!
Julie: How it the job hunt going? Employed? Still looking?
Dotty: How the house? Your hand? Job Search?
Jane: Any great flea market discoveries?
Can’t wait to see everyone!

Who's Vanessa?
I'm not off on Fridays yet -- too many seminars to hold and I have to make that time up. *sigh*
Do set a date for the next meetup though. This Friday at
Messestadt West would be great for me...

Sorry, Inessa...so how are you feeling?
Can't do it this Friday we are going to Pragu for a small weekend trip. Dave has some business meeting and I am tagging along.
How about next Friday...maybe we can meet up with you Gen at the place we meet for lunch last time. It is a bit of a trip but easy...
What are the other Hausfrau votes?

Hiya - all is well in Dotty's house. Signed up for 3rd month of Deutsche lessons so Friday's are the only day I can make nowadays. This Friday I have Rachael so probably not such a good idea for me. I think next week I'm around unless HE takes me away for the weekend which is what HE has been hinting at as HE is in the doghouse (have posted vent). I'm dying to catch up with everyone I feel like I dropped of the map with us not having internet for a month. Will try and make it. Hope everyone is well.

Dotty, can you do a late breakfast or sumpin?
Stop the music. Did I know that Inessa is expecting?? Congrats to you and Dad!
Gen, how much notice do you need if one decides to train out for lunch on Friday? You know, spontaneous like.
damara, are you still in town?
Let's all do something even if it's wrong.

Hi Guys,
Been useless I know. Glad to hear your back Dandl:) So when is the next meet up then. Last time I tried to make it I made a complete balls up of the day and got so many people confused so best just to tell me when and where I think:) No fleamarket discoveries so far, but have gone as far to open my own interior design freelance business. Check out my site www.edrissidesign.com (still partly under construction)

Yep, I'm expecting (in October) and feeling fine.
Unfortunately, this week is dedicated to pre-holiday planning, and then we're away for 2 weeks. Once we're back in August, I'll be able to join you all again.
Hope everyone is having a lovely summer.

Ok Ladies, Let's set a date!
Thursday July, 10th 12pm at Pamir. It is an Afghanisches Resturant.
Address: Dachauer Str. 78
They have 4.99E lunch specials. It just changed ownership to my surprised but the food seems just as good. I will double check the name to make sure they did not change it but the address is correct.
See everyone there. Can someone change the title for me-Gen?

I just got a PM from an "event manager" who wants to know what kind of menu to organize. Not sure who to forward it to as I am assuming its got to do with the lunch for the 24th.
Can anyone help?

I see the same person that sent this PM has also been targeting some of the other meet-ups, so I think its just a promotional ploy. The topic of the PM was a bit dubious:"How to make things more hot..."

Ignore it. I've been to six or seven LoAHf breakfast/lunches and they have all been meals ordered from the establishments menu. No prior coordination on meals required, just a head count to let the establishment have a seating plan.

Yes, I don't know anything about a menu...you can either order from the lunch special of the day around 5Euro or off the menu.
If you take the U1 to Stiglmaierplatz across from the Lowenbrau keller or the Tram 20 or 21 to Sand strasse.
The resturant is closest to the Sand Strasse stop.

I have been looking forward to meeting the Hausfrauen since March! However my husband may have to do some unexpected work on Thursday and therefore I have to take care of our 2year old son. This means that I will probably not make it to the lunch.

Apologies for the late cancellation but this only came up today.
