Jazz musician, film critic, bon viveur and general all-round good bloke George Melly has died today at the age of 80. He has been ill for quite a long time with lung cancer. RIP, mate.

A man who definitely enjoyed life and did it all while wearing a hat at a rakish tilt. Saw him in Cork years ago when a smoke filled room was still the norm for good jazz.
