Mums & Bumps, weekly meeting in Berlin

Hi all,

I came to a meet up a few weeks ago whilst i was searching for a place in berlin. finally, we have found a place and we move to the city on thursday! would love to meet up too!!!

We could try Maredo's, just across from Potsdamer Platz, looks like a chain so the food might not be brilliant, but there seemed to be loads of space for buggies and other paraphenalia!

Shall we say Friday at 11.30am? Its just across Potsdamer Strasse, on a side street Varian-Fry Strasse.

Hello everyone! I'd like to meet up as well. Unfortunately, my son has been running a fever for a couple days.
He may be ok by Friday if you are available. In terms of the venue, which area would you prefer (Charlottenburg, Mitte, etc)?

Maybe Friday would be a good day since most of us are free & it would give the little one the chance to recover. I am temporarily living near Potsdammer Platz, but I have been figuring out the public transporation system , so I can probably meet anywhere. Since I've only been here a little over a week, I can't make any suggestions for a good meeting place, so I'll leave that up to you guys.

Shall we say Friday at 11.30am at Maredo's? (In lieu of any better suggestions!!) Its just across Potsdamer Strasse, on a side street Varian-Fry Strasse. For those with buggies etc Potsdamer Platz S-Bahn has lifts but the U-Bahn does not.

Has anyone been to the Charlottenburg bi-lingual playgroup? I am thinking of heading over this lunchtime...

A little bit about me: My name is Margaret, I am a 25 yr. old American living in Potsdam. I graduated college in the States in August (I studied Fashion/Business) and by September I found myself here in German. I am looking for a job here in Germany and learning the German language. I wanted something little to do on the side while I continue to job search, so I thought babysitting is appropriate. I'm trying to find somewhere where Isabella can get out and have a play, rather than wriggling in her seat for an hour! Until I do, shall we say Maredo's again? We'll be there about 1pm this week if anyone else can make it?

Hi! I had a nice time last Friday & it was great meeting all of you! I would love to meet again this Friday. Next week I start my language courses which will be everyday from 13:15 to 17:45!!! I hope I will still be able to meet with you guys...at least on occasion. Maredo's is fine, but let me know if you find a more convenient place for you & little Isabella.

Just want to say that it looks like both my daughter and I have the cold . It looks like I wont be able to make it today but hopefully ill be able to make it the next meeting.Have fun!

With no bus or U-Bahn, I will not make it to Potsdamer Platz tomorrow...

Me neither! I think some of the bumps might have made an appearance by the time this strike is over.

Just as an idea for next time I found a nice cafe in Prenzlauer Berg which has got toys and things for children to play with, which might be fun for the babies, but I don't know if PBerg is a bit far out for some people? It is reachable by U-bahn and tram though. I would need to check the opening times as it was a Saturday when I dropped by and it didn't open until 2pm, but during the week it might be different.

The cafe is called Onkel Albert and the address is Zionskirchstr. 63. I will go and check the opening hours as the ones I found on the internet say Sun-Fri 10-19, but it was open on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago, so maybe they have changed.
The M1 tramstop at Zionskirchplatz is the nearest and it is only a couple of minutes walk from there. Senerfelder Platz U-bahn is the next closest and maybe about 5 mins walk.

The opening times are still 10-1900 during the week (and also for Good Friday). It was pretty busy at about 12.30 today so I would suggest, to those who fancy it, meeting at 11.30 on Friday so we can hopefully get a seat before the lunchtime rush.

Onkel Albert was great! It was good to have somewhere for the babies to crawl around and cause havoc whilst we could chill (well, relatively) and have a coffee.
Can anyone make another friday meeting (I'd say 11.30 was a good time)? I appreciate some of the members of the group could be "busy"!
