Ice hockey games in Munich (EHC München)

See you guys at Olympiazentrum around 19:20ish then.

Had a great time.

Nürnberg had this game from the beginning and won it 5-0. München looked pathetic on their first power play, but started to come around a bit later on. They had some great scoring chances and probably would have put the biscuit in the basket a couple times if not for some great netminding from the Ice Tigers keeper.

The crowd is just fantastic. I can't imagine what it would be like if EHC München actually scored a goal!

Munich won in Bremerhaven last night, 2nd leg is Sunday night in Munich faceoff at 18:30.

I'll decide tomorrow around midday if I'm gonna go... anyone else intrested?

Munich's up 3 games to 1. Next game is tonight at 8pm in Olympiapark. If they win this they're into the semis.

Here's hoping that the next round has a favorable schedule and we can plan an outing. I'm assuming that the opposing team will likely have home-ice advantage.

Reading the fans forum there might be no EHC next year. Gothaer have not confirmed renewing their sponsorship, no big sponsorship no team for next year.

Home game against Kassel on Tuesday next week. Gives us a bit of time to recover from tonight's game :-)
As to sponsors for next season, the club are playing it down - claiming that it's normal after four years that each party reviews their position and that they have further possible sponsors anyway. But going on past experience most folk will be looking for something concrete before calming down - see the situation a few years ago when you were celebrating promotion with ESC and knew deep down that the team wouldn't be around the next season!

A 3-0 loss for München tonight to go down 2-0 in games. Both teams played a very tight first period until Kassel opened things up a bit in the second. München never really threatened to charge back and I'd be surprised if they are able to come back in the series. That said, they looked a heckuva lot better than when I saw them in the preseason.

The season ended for EHC München in a 7-1 loss at Kassel, but the team intends to celebrate the season tonight at the Hacker-Pschorr Bräuhaus beginning at 7pm. If you still have your ticket for the playoff game on April 3, it is worth 2 free half-liters. My ticket is long gone unfortunately.

Anyway, well done to the team for a good season and a semifinal finish.

After the doubts of the main sponsor - Gothaer renewing their contract, EHC München have a new set a of problems after 6 other sponsors pulled the plug, leaving them short to the tune of €400000. The club owners arent gonna enter a team into the league with such a short fall of cash Deadline day is mid may. If the money hasnt been found by then - there will be no ehc münchen next year. Players have been released and told to look for other contracts - arse

New trainer is Berthold Englbrecht - remember giving him abuse years ago when he played for Landshut!

The game on Friday 7th in Rosenheim is the one to go to , all the old SBR / Hedos rivalries and bitterness from the good old days ( 70s - 80s early 90s ) when both were 1st liga teams ( and Rosenheim 3 times Champions ) , comes out . This also the last Friday of the Rosenheimer Herbstfest , traditionally all SBR fans meet for fruhschoppen , weisswurst essen etc , @ 10am and continue until the evening game . If your an sports fan , the atomosphere on the steep terracing in the stadium is not to be missed !

I really feel strange saying this (after the crap games I witnessed last year), but Munich actually played a decent game and their goalie stood on his head. Good job. I hope that continues aganist Nürnberg.

Sorry, it was a good game. Its always nice to see munich win. it sometimes makes hte mid season slump that bit bearable. when I hear who the opponents in the next round of the cup is, I'll post here.

Great game. EHC was strong on the power play, OK on the penalty kill (would have been better if the last minute of the first and second periods had never happened). Best offensive hockey I've seen from München yet.

What are tickets worth? the next time you guys go drop me a line please, I would like to got! : )

i visited munich last week and went to watch EHC v Nurnberg. this was my first ever experience of watching live ice hockey and was totally amazed at the atmosphere and colour in the stands!
can you just let me know more about the match. i believe it was a cup match were EHC the underdog? was it a really big achievement to win. i was very pleased that i was the trip.
by the way i was on the terrace behind the goal with the EHC fans. i was wearing an oxford united football shirt if anyone saw. (i doubt anyone noticed but just in case!)
also is dr felix really a doctor or is that just a nickname?

glad you enjoyed the game. We were also in the terrace at the end. Lots of fun for everyone. It was the first round of the cup between munich (league 2) against Nurnberg (league1) - think Cardiff City v Manutd in football terms

The atmosphere was all the better as EHCMünchen were winning THey have a history of a good run in the cup, so lets hope this year is the same. At the moment only 2 of the sides in league2 have beaten opponents from league 1 (DEL)

Dr Felix Schneider, not really found much out. Cant confirm is hes a really Dr or not. Been looking at hockeydb, and through the forum and cant find anything really to confirm or deny it. Hes was born in Fussen and is a really bavarian...

I'd have no reason to doubt the validity of Dr. Felix's title. I find the Germans pretty finicky about their titles, so I suspect he's legit. That said, he may not be a medical doctor.
