Business friend of mine is looking for help in his newly opened internet cafe in Berlin. More perks than dosh but a good starter and atmosphere.

jeez, don't kill each other over a cyber cafe job!
what does worry me (not really) is that the website link given is not active, and that people apply here with no reaction of the op. creativity has already been ruled out (see: copy&paste scandal), youth has been questioned. guess we're down to intelligence. just how likely is it, that said owner of said internet cafe checks the posts here? given that there's a phone no. you might call and that the topic was started by a buddy and not by the possible employer...

At least we are havin an enthusiastic debate

Just wondering... is there any reason why people reply to a months-old thread where the person / organisation offering the job is not actually participating? Especially when there's a phone-number available? (Or maybe there really is some guy sitting alone in his internet cafe desperately reloading this page and not realizing he can scroll down the screen to find a plethora of candidates he didn't realise were answering?)

yes its so funny that its almost sad... somebody's probably been working in this position now for a month, and they are all having a good laugh over it, at that Cyber Cafe... Really people... the work situation is so bad now in Berlin (20% unemployment Rate in the City) there is probably a line of Germans outside for that job as soon as it became available. After all, most Germans can speak as good English as any Expat...

I've been here a couple of weeks now and all people I've met so far are desperately looking for a job!
If you don't know how to get buy without any money, got a fat bank roll, have some very sought after skills or get employed before actually moving here, one should think twice about this place!
