Where to buy a jewellery box

Hi ya

Any one know where you can buy a jewellery box in or around Munich. I got to get me a Birthday gift for my Girl and have no idea about these kind of things. I got a empty cigar box hmmm maybe that will work.

The shop on Kaufingerstr wot sells Steins & clocks has a nice range of musical jewellery boxes. Some are quite tacky but there are also quite a few nice ones.

have you absolutely zeroed down on the jewellery box or are you open to suggestions?

There's a shop behind Marienplatz as you walk towards Sendlinger Tor (can't remember the name but I guess it must be on Rosenstr. or the north end of Sendlingerstr.) that sells handbags, briefcases etc. They do a nice line in leather jewellery boxes (got myself one there).

Yeah at the momment I have decieded on the box but will have to wait and see, off to town now. thanks for the replies

That shop with wood products/brushes on the corner of Marienplatz, turning toward the viktualienmarkt (damn, my german spelling has gone south), used to have some really lovely handmade wooden ones, of varying sizes. I always meant to buy one there...

Thanks once again for the help. Thanks AnnaW I think i bought it at the same shop you mentioned. Some good quality stuff in the shop and the shop keepers were nice old ladies who wrapped it up for me and gave me some advice on the products etc. Some of the other shops around town are really cheap crap but think I did well.
