Forever rain in Dresden

Has the weather been typical this spring?

I've been watching the weather in Dresden every day, and it seems like you have more rain and clouds than sun!! Is that typical? or have you just had a very rainy spring? Right now it's 92 in Boston and humid as hell. Because of that I've spent as much time on the beach and in the ocean as I can. I don't mind hot and humid as much if the sun is out. I realize that BEACH is not an option but I can buy a FAN can't I?? The old bowl of ice cubes in front of the fan might work if that's the only solution. Please tell me the weathermen are wrong over here and you don't have clouds and rain 3-4 times a week!! sad.gif

3 weeks and counting!!

When are you coming here? It's just been the past week where it is about 50-60 F and rainy and very windy. Before that it was pretty hot though, up in the 80s and stayed pretty dry!

Early SPRING was hot - its SUMMER now & school holidays have started in some regions of Germany (3 weeks to go up here). Thats why its raining cats & dogs and even some of the streams have overflowed their banks. There is currently no prospect of improvement. Thank heavens we have 2 weeks Ibiza booked for mid-August!!!

Seriously - there normally is a few weeks hot weather in Summer here - you just dont know when this will happen. rolleyes.gif

Thanks, Astor- Hot, 80s and dry is my FAVORITE weather. My plane arrives in Dresden on July 18th! I'm excited! Save that nice weather for me, ok?? I'm gonna go through beach withdrawal when I get there.

Well, the beach is not here sad.gif Why did you choose Dresden?

The reason she came to Germany must have something to do with the beer.
Thats why i cam here.

As for Dresden, maybe she likes being around old people.

HAHA, so true..everytime I leave work I have to wade through massive herds of gray-hairs, and avoid my picture being taken from every angle.

I think Dresden is a retirement city for Germans. The amount of old West Germans here is also frightening.

^Indeed

Well, it is raining again..no surprise here...except I am stuck without an umbrella

I AM an old people...going over to show that some of us American old people are kewl! and as for the beer- I don't drink. I'm there because of the job. Teachers make NO money in the US, so the German salary ( plus my pension) will make it affordable. It's the only way I can afford to travel around the rest of Europe. cool.gif

It is important to note, that here you get taxed to the hilt. If you can could you also teach the old people some manners and show them how old people should behave.
RDW
I'll do my best~ Maybe the old people are so crabby because it rains all of the time!

As for the tax- I was told 47%~ BUT that Americans get most of it back if we leave withing 3-5 years. Know anything about that?

Off to the beach!
malikos
You get you pension contribution back, but you have to wait 2 years since leaving Germany. Don't believe everything your told.
