Guess you're looking for an English language church thing for a friend, then.
Like Catholic as in pope, Bush-style Reborn, Church of England? Or is anything that features a nativity play before X-mas good enough?

You might want to be more specific there.

Also, getting involved in a church community might be a good way to meet the natives and develop your language skills. As in not English but German. Assuming you are planning to stay for a while rather than just visiting and feeling that spiritual need. Or your friend. Or whatever.
