Don't ask me why, but Blackburn Rovers are playing a friendly against Armenia Bielefeld (a german team in the first Bundesliga) on Sunday 15th July at
6pm (not 7pm, as in the title!!!) in
Heimstetten, which is on the S-Bahn. I will definitely be going, perhaps a few TTers would be interested in joining me?

Directions for you all...
If you are coming from Town on the S-bahn... Exit at the front of the train and go throughthe under pass...
As you come out on the other side... Keep walking.. Down the One way street.. Follow it past the Church...Past subway and into the REZ.. Just keep going straight..
When you get to the Räter Hotel, Turn left and keep walking! Straight over 2 x roads and you come to the sports ground.
The food there is excellent! or if you want the Best Steak in Munich... IMHO "
La Piazza" in the REZ is King!
Enjoy our village!!

YAY! I used to work up in Bielefeld for 6 years in the 90's and went to games at The Alm quite regularly. I've got the scarf, a couple of shirts and a deep hatred of Bayern München... so I guess that makes me an Armenia fan then.
Conveniently, I had also promised to take Sinette to a footie game, and with United having no chance of coming to Munich next season this might just be The One.
Anybody know prices and information?
kathie
Jun 27 2007, 10:03 pm
Don't know the prices Sin, only have the information in the first post. Rovers play a friendly most summers in Germany - I watched them play a tournament in a stadium near Stuttgart a few summers back, and seem to recall entry being something like 12€. Other than that, 15th July (Sun), 6pm at the sports ground in
Heimstetten.
Grinner
Jun 27 2007, 10:05 pm
We dont have a stadium..
And the bloke who usually collects the cash on the turnstyle is having his hair cut that afternoon...
I dont think there is an entrance fee.. I will ask tomorrow..
Just been reliably informed that my friend thinks its 10€...
kathie
Jun 27 2007, 10:08 pm
OK, stadium was a bit of an exaggeration for the ground near Stuttgart too, automatic word for it but I think pitch and 1 seating area that xould loosly be termed as a stand would be more appropriate!!

a game involving an english side in Germany add beer and it'll end up as a punch up, I tip no beer in the ground. Still sounds like an interesting evening out.

Jun 28 2007, 7:50 am
There is a bar at the Ground as well... the food is quite good too!!
For the lazy ones ...
If you make sure yours is the train that arrives on the hour, there will be a bus that drops you close to the Ground.. It the Räterstr Stop!!
We only have 1 bus an hour on Sundays!!

OK, Jeeves and I will be taking the S2 from
Hauptbahnhof at 16:32. We are meeting on the platform at the front end of the train, and will be sharing a Partner Tageskarte. They are valid for up to 5 people, so if anyone wants to join us (Bluedave, Lassie, Sin?), feel free! PM me if you'll be joining us, so I know whether to look out for you, or for a mobile number if you want to meet up at the ground.
Come on you Blues!!!
