The police are warning drivers about a gang of car burglars who broke into 17 cars at the airport this Tuesday, stealing mostly portable navigation systems and car radios. It seems that cars in the long term parking areas are targeted, the burglars gain access by breaking the side windows. Assumedly, the gang sells the stolen goods to fences outside of Germany.

There is no mention of CCTV, I believe the garages themselves are not monitored, only the entries and exits.

Hmm, maybe I'll start taking the navigator holder off the windscreen in future, as well. This time I did anyway, as I needed to use the navigator at my destination.

I noticed when I was there the other day that they have a Secure parking on level 6 of P20. Also described as premium parking (free translation from Komfort). It costs €14/day extra, but isn't clear from the link what that covers, as they mention car wash, refuelling and valeting.

Remember to remove the dirty circle on the windscreen as well as this is a giveaway that the SATNAV is in the car.

Police have nabbed a Slovakian guy, who they believe was responsible for the smash and grabs at Munich and Salzburg airports.

Oh! I have deliberately put that dirty circle on my winscreen. (..you know where I'm going with this..) To pretend that I too have one of those navigation systems. I think I'll leave it there. The broken side window will make people think I've had mine stolen too!

According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung one culprit has been arrested fairly red-handed with nine navi systems on his person and nine freshly smashed car windows unaccounted for.
