This Saturday a couple of TT dog owners will be taking their dogs to the
Olympia Park so the dogs can hang out together, and the owners can chat about dogs, among other things. We will meet at the Olympia Alm at 13:00. The Olympia Alm is a dog-friendly small beer garden on that green hill in Olympia Park. You may also join us even if you don't have a dog, provided you don't mind an awful lot of doggy talk and romping.
Any interest?

I don't have a dog, But I would LOVE to come wrestle around with them and throw balls or whatever! I really miss having the little buggers around, and the germans are slightly touchy about people messing with their well-trained Pooches!

We had a nice 3 dog, 4 person get-together. We´ll try to do this on a regular basis and will post again the next time---and I´ve learned my lesson to maybe schedule it a bit later...

Dear Dog Owners and Dog Friends,
The next Doggy Play Day is planned for Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 2 p.m.
Again at Olympia Alm.
Remember, everyone is welcome to come and hang out in the park and drink something with us. The only prerequisite is at least tolerating dogs and conversations about them.
Hope to see you there!

i definately wish Bren and I were still in Munich, i'd love to be there!
the poor guys is getting old (today is his 3rd bday) and will be lonely after today after 2 weeks spent with other dogs while i've been dog sitting, he would've loved this!
If you do this in October i'll be there (with or without dog)

I just wanted to note that we will be meeting regardless of the weather -- Olympia Alm does have big umbrella-y things over its tables.

Well, he's still dangerously cute, no doubt of that! Thanks Ruthie for setting up the meet yesterday - great to meet lovely Levi, the famous Cookie and superstar Tobi of course, and oh yes, there were some people there too, weren't there? Actually got that black and white power surge of mine thoroughly tired for the evening. Looking forward to the next one!

So far Crusoe has reported she will come, sans canine companion. If you´re not up to anything else, swing on by the Olympia Alm and have a beer/Spezi with us!

Raubtiersalon...whatever.
We had a lovely doggy day with lots of chatting and romping and beer. We had one dog in person (in canine?) and two in spirit, one of whom is yet to be found.
Next time, if the weather is good, we plan on going someplace where doggies can swim.
Ta!

Yes, that was a great afternoon all right. Poor Tobi was so tired afterwards he had to be carried away from the beer garden (I know some people who are sometimes like that too)!

Anyone up for meeting this Saturday (Aug 4th)? Same time, same place??
Ruthie
Aug 3 2007, 8:42 pm
YES, let´s meet tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Olympia Alm. Maybe we could discuss some alternate venues? Crusoe did some research and found a lake where we could take the dogs swimming on a hot day, but I guess tomorrow won´t be so hot. I´ve also heard that northern
English Garden is nice for dogs to run and play.
But for tomorrow, let´s stick with the same bat-time, same bat-channel.
See you there!

IN A BIND! Hi all, I thought I´d be feeling better today, but I am feeling worse. I am sick and I just don´t have the energy to get out for the doggy play day.
Is there anyone Tobi knows who might be willing to take him along? I get him out for short walks, but I think he could use a good romp in the park...

Revival of Doggy Play Dates! I know the weather isn't good, but that's no reason not to get outside with our canine friends and friends of canines. The format will of course be slightly different in cold weather, as it wouldn't be too pleasant to sit on grass and drink beer at the moment. But how about getting together to go for a walk somewhere? I've heard near the
Aumeister is good. We could meander in the frosty meadows and then head inside for a hot chocolate or a tea.
Timing: weekends alternating with those of hashes (see Hash House Harriers), traditionally on Saturdays, but this is up for debate (since my dog has now graduated from the Sunday afternoon puppy school), early afternoon.
If there is enough interest at such short notice for this weekend, let's do it, otherwise, we are on FOR SURE for the 19th/20th of January.

If you ever made the rendez-vous somewhere to the east of Munich I'd gladly join you too. Sunday's are slightly better for me, but a Saturday would also work.

In reply to a PM, just so everyone knows, bringing a dog is not a requirement. You just have to LIKE them.
Weather report says this Sunday there will be ice rain, so IF we do it this weekend, it would be on Saturday.
Still on for sure for the 19/20th.
Matt, if you suggest a place in the east close to public transportation, we might just wander that way some time.

Great to see so many interested people! The next Munich Doggy Play Day will be on Sunday, January 20 at 14:00 (2 p.m.) We will meet at

There's the difference between Brits and Americans right there. In our house, it is "she who
must be obeyed".

We missed crusoe (and hope the hot toddy helps), but otherwise we were a motley, cheerful crew. Good stick-throwing, good conversation, and a a little bit o´ beer/coffee/punch. We dog friends, in our infinite wisdom, had foreseen two weeks ago how fantastic the weather today would be. Hope the same folks come along next time, and newcomers are encouraged to join!

Hello, when will you be getting together again? I have a little dog who could really use some socializing (and so could her mistress, ha!). My little gal is a rescue and a bit nervous around other dogs, but I'm certain it's just a matter of getting some confidence with some friendly dogs.

Hi there, our next meeting is this Sunday at 2 p.m. Are there any fantastic suggestions for a venue? If not, I shall selfishly choose a spot close to my place.
In response to a helpful suggestion after our last time - yes, we will be doing some walking and not just standing around in a field throwing sticks this time.
All and Sundry welcome!

Since we had two votes for the East last month, and I live in the East too, can we make it Ostpark?
