Hello all,
I would like to meet up with this group if you are still getting together regularly. I'll try for tonight, I just need to get out of work on time for a change. If someone can confirm the details where you are meeting that would be great.

Thanks,
Peter

miss you all... sniff sniff... bet you're glad I am gone now though! Might actually get some German conversation in eh? Make John speak some, someone (haa haa John, setting you up there...) at least he can hold a conversation, unlike me.

Hi

The conversation group has booked a table for 7.30 on a wednesday in Zeit & Raum. This bar can be gotten to either by going through die Rote bar which connects wiith it or by the entrance at the river near O'Sheas. If you are new to the grup look out for the green sign on the table that reads 'English'.

I hope to see you all there next wednesday.

Hi

there is no stammtisch on 26.12.07, it will resume on the 2.01.08 at Zeit & Raum. The group meeting time has been amended to start at 8.00pm. Look for the table with a green 'English' sign. Everyone have a merry christmas and a happy new year and see you all in 2008.

Hi there,

Does the German conversation group still gather together every week?

lonestar20: not sure; I’ve asked about the sammstich before in the past and never recieved a reply, so I guess they’re not. However, tonight (Wednesday), a number of us will be meeting up over at Indochine @7:30 pm, and then later will be migrating to O’Sheas. If anyone's interested in meeting up with us, please do so!

(Just for reference: my pic is in my profile, and also on the silly movie-like poster I threw together for “Adventures in Eating Out. I’m also wearing a brownish shirt and blue jeans today.)

Thank you Garrett for the invite!! Unfortunately I haven't arrived yet. I will be in Nuremberg from the 11th of next month. Please keep me posted as I would love to join!!

Ive wittered on in other posts about my pet ex-pat hate being Brits who hang around in irish pubs complaining about not meeting any locals, so Im biased, but am I alone in finding it counter-productive to have a German conversation course in O'Sheas?

Kudos to you all for making the effort, and I would understand if "Zeit und Raum", which you appear to have been to at least once, is too loud and inconvenient, but you could at least go across the road to "Luftsprung". If you go up to the first floor (towards the bogs) there is a big table on the left that can accomodate 12 people or so and at least you'd be away from the blinkin' irish pub. They take reservations, so you could set up a "Stammtisch". Nice food, too. No, I dont get a commission.

Get out of your comfort zone - Its the only way to learn.

Hi

The stammtisch is still going, at the moment there are only three of us and we were all on holiday during the period when you all seemed to write in. We have been meeting in a couple of other places before we all went off, notably, Ballazzo Brozzi and Bar Celona just over the river from O'Sheas. We tend not to meet in O'sheas because it is too loud to have a conversation group. If anyone is still interested in joining the group reply to this post and i will arrange with the others where we will meet and let you all know in time for the next meeting.

Take care

John

Hi

This week we will be meeting at 8.30 pm in Ballazzo Brozzi. This is a cafe in Hochstrasse. You get there by getting a tram (either the No. 4 to Thon, or the No. 6 to westfriedhof) from Plarrer, get off at the next stop (Obere Turnstrasse), cross over into the road going straight down from the station (which I believe is Obere Turnstrasse)and away from the city centre, and you will see Ballazzo Brozzi at the bottom of the street. I will have a small sign which reads 'English' on the table, I will probably also be sitting with a laptop in front of me (as I will get there earlier to do some work). I hope you can join us.
We have started going to Ballazzo Brozzi because Bar Celona is too noisy to talk, but we are thinking about going back to Die Rote bar in the city. If we change the venue again I will let you know.

Take care

John
