Any ideas how people who can´t speak any German get a job in Dresden (for wife) or around Dresden. Any websites or info which can help.

Not really just be careful, Dresden is a lovely place but just like Berlin there are loads of Neo-Nazis close by, not speaking German isn't going to make life 3 easy either. Sorry to say it. I suppose the usual things like translating, babysitting other English speakers kids, giving help to people learning English is a start, unless you're good with silicon chips, AMD's around the corner, I'm sure their internal language is English, although are they doing that well at the moment?

Malikos, you can add dog walking to that list, there won't be much money in it but it'll give her something to do if she's bored.

She could check out if there is anything going at the International school.

I used to know some folk in Dresden you were working as English teachers, but I have forgotten the name of the School.

Try firms that have the home branch in English speaking countries. On occasion they have a need for a native English speaker and do business in English themselves.
If you have some marginal German.. you can read a menu or a road sign right? Try tour companies after living here a few months. Know the sites and learn the tour blurb about an area and you may get some work walking old folks around the city.

The best I think is another “translation like� option... proofing English content / homework / advertising. You don’t need to know a lick of German just fix the Engurash.

Has she applied at the language schools around DD? That's where I eventually found a job. Seems like a "send an application and wait until they need teachers" kind of thing.

Hi...Just found this forum...been in dresden awhile...anyone got any ideas on finding work here ... my german's not great by the way. Also, looking for anyone who's interested in meeting up for a few jars, watching the football,etc etc.
