Birgit & Peter Bannister are members of the Social Club Mülheim a.d. Ruhr. They're also running a new restaurant called "Bannisters", Kölner Str. 170, 45481 Mülheim an der Ruhr, Tel. 0208-483002, Email: bannister@gmx.de.
Scottish breakfast every Sunday morning and on public holidays between 10am and 11.30am. €9.50 per person.
Before opening "Bannisters" on June 1, 2007, Birgit and Peter had been running "Haus Klever" in Mülheim for several years.
If you want to experience Scottish/German hospitality I can personally recommend "Bannisters". If you have a sense of humour you'll enjoy your visit to "Bannisters" even more ...
... and, by the way, I do not get any commission for mentioning the restaurant here (Peter Bannister is a Scot ...) ;-)

It's a really top restaurant, not least because the food's great. There's a really informal atmosphere to the place but all the rich go there as evidenced by big shiny cars out on the car park. Now you have to book well advance to get a sniff of an evening table

After a visit to Bannisters tonight, I would also highly recommend this restaurant. It really is a nice place with great food, a warm atmosphere and most importantly: great service. It is also quite a busy place so it definitely pays to reserve a table. (We didn't have a reservation and were very lucky that the staff were so accomodating otherwise we would have had to settle on somewhere else for dinner). Am looking forward to the next time we visit.
