Hi everybody. I'll be visiting Munich in the end of August and I wanted to know which ones are the good malls in Munich. Are there any outlet stores? I have a special interest in shoes, clothing and sunglasses. Summer is close here in Brazil. Don't forget the good prices too. Thanks for your attention! Ciao.

There are no good "Malls" in munich.
Shopping here is really bad
People often ask what I miss about the UK - the variety of shopping!
Munichs great if you want prada, or gucci or something equally expensive, but if you are looking for american style malls, with great outlet stores you have had it

Aqua,
I don't remember seeing any really exciting shops in
PEP - its OK for ordinary shopping but not exactly top class.
Bex,
I wouldn't bother with the OEZ if I were you... it's more effort to get there than its worth.. BTW they've been builiding the underground line to the
OEZ ever since I first visited Munich ... almost eight years ago!

Rumour has it there are outlet stores in the region and there is even a book that lists all of the outlet stores in Germany, but as far as I'm aware most are miles out of town and only accessible by car. "Best" mall in town would have to be
Fünf Höfe.. but only if you've got the income of a small country.

The mall they're building out at the
Messestadt looks like it's going to be huge. Anyone know when it's due to be finished?

pour yourself a large G&T or drink of your choice and log on to
www.yoox.com or

shopping in Munich generally requires the sale of major bodily organs to raise sufficient funds.

A great thing to go is Metzingen.
It's a very small town (about 14000 ppl live there) but there are about 20-30 Factory outlets in this one little city.
It all started 10 or 15 years ago with the Factory Outlet of Hugo Boss.
Metzingen always was famous for the Hugo Boss Outlet and at the weekend there were ppl from allover Europe in town (you could tell by the licence plate)
After Hugo, Bogner started to have a factory Outlet there as well, and then i think Calvin Kline. And maybe 3 years ago, there were suddenly all famous brands, Tommy Hilfiger, Strenesse, Escada, Jilsander, Nike, Joop, Polo Ralph Lauren, Benetton and also Shops like Esprit.
I usually just buy some Stuff at Esprit or some of the cheaper Stores, (Esprit Shirt for 9 EUR instead of 25 or 35 EUR, and you get the same clothes as in any Esprit Shop, but mostly things are sold out very fast, means don't expect that they have ALL the things readily available, but what is there is cheap.)
Of course buying a Hugo Suit for 600 EUR instead of 1400 EUR is great, but it's still 600 EUR for a suit.
Oh, Metzingen is not near here, it is near Stuttgart. About 250km (2-3h).
I don't know if it's worth it to go there, unless you wanna buy a suit.
I also bought pullovers, a leather Jacket for 40 EUR (instead of 220,-), a suit for 200 instead of (400,-) but it's hard to find these kinda things, especially when you only have one day.
I go there from time to time because my parents live there.
But now at least you know about this Outlet City.
Cheers!

i got a huge boss suit too from that outlet, but you have to watch out too 'cause some of the items are second-quality, meaning they have little things wrong with them. still i paid €150 instead of €400 for mine and it is horrilby crowede on the weekends. you an actually sign up for a bus ride to that mall.
