Ideas please for "über Eck stehend"? It means the building or part of the building is bent around a corner.

Angled? Built at right (or other) angles?

Text reads: "Bei Brandwänden an über Eck stehenden Gebäuden und Gebäudeteilen müssen die Brandwände..."

Brandwand is fire wall, but I'm stumped about the rest. Any help how to get "corner overhang" into that sentence?

It sounds like they mean the walls of corner overhangs must be fire-proof.

I think this is probably a European norm. Get the number of the norm and google for an English translation.

It is a DIN norm and I have not found any English translations. :-( Thanks for the hint and the translation of the sentence though.

in this case "über Eck stehenden Gebäuden und Gebäudeteilen" refers to an interior corner (the "included angle" corner) - and has nothing to do with overhanging...
Does the text have to do with minimum distances between fenestration at interior corner situations?

It deals with 1) distances between firewalls and normal walls and 2) construction of normal walls when firewalls are in and near interior corner situations. Fenestration plays into it too as well as smoke areas and fire protection areas. (Luckily large parts of it are mathematic calculations, nothing to translate except replacing a-umlaut with ae.)

It is quotations from DIN 18230-1 and DIN 18232-2 if this is any help.

Joke is: It's essentially 50 pages saying nothing but that a few tons of steel and concrete don't spontanely combust - and they are charging top-dollar for this genius conclusion. (And they want "a quick translation" by Monday.)
