Child molesting dads are real. Looking for clues where there aren't any, posting bogus stories on internet forums, being generally paranoid rather than keeping your eyes and ears open, is not doing the kids in question any favours. This kind of hysteria IMO makes it easier for the actual molesters to do what they do, because thinking people are so turned off by it (the hysteria) that their threshold of 'something is wrong here' is heightened.

What a weird thread. I thought it was bizarre anyone was brushing off the fact a grown man was sticking his fingers anywhere near a teenage girls ass - I can't see how it's the same as kissing/hugging within a family & am glad in this case it's only made up.
I also didn't understand why people got hung up on whether it was sexual or not, I didn't see sexuality mentioned as a concern at the start and thought it obvious that this situation would be inappropriate no matter what the motives were.

So, that was interesting, although I don't agree with the thread-starters way of finding out what people would say, I think the questions raised could have just been honestly asked hypothetically. No need for make believe to get opinions on this site.

Anyway, I was so surprised at the replies I asked someone else whether they thought it odd that so many posters were leaning towards the families right to stick their hands up each others bums.
I was told not to believe every story I read on TT. but still didn't get an answer about whether the replies were odd or not. Anyone else surprised there was actually much debate? Do people really think this situation could be considered perfectly acceptable?

Marshbot, my opinion on the matter is exactly what I said in my posts, I would not want it personally, nor would I want it for my child at that age, but some other families might find it acceptable and appropriate and that is their right.

Lowest common denominator: daughter asked Papa to do it and girlfriend of Papa has a problem with it.

My original question was true and I wanted to know what people felt about fathers administering suppositories to teenage girls. I tried subtly to point out the risks and concerns as i thought the feedback would be informative for both myself and to illustrate potential dangers... to fathers, relationships and to see how misunderstandings arise and the effect and consquences of public opinion.

What I got was;

The girl asked her father to insert it ( so therefore it was ok) We only have the fathers word this is the case but no= one thought to question it? I did straight away.

2 people highlighted that if i thought illeagl acts were going on I should go to police.

Look back at comments and most people seem to be demonising me for daring to challenge this action and behaviour and I am accuse of being jealous of the daughter, having sexual problems, being intimidated by the closeness of the father /daughter relationship, having a dysfunctional relationship, my father must have interfered with me as a child and many more suppositions due to that I posed a question regarding fatherhood and daughter boundaries and practices tha i was uncomfortable with.
I am sure I do have multiply problems but they are not related to any of the above accusations...

No, you only had the father's word. We only had yours. I think most people here assume that if you say "the daughter asked for help" you actually verified that before posting, i.e. she actually did ask him for help. If you were not sure about it, I would expect you to have said that somewhere.

And the reason why people assumed you had deeper-lying issues were that you not only asked him about it, but that you said y'all esentially broke up afterwards (you haven't spoken).

I was not accusing my ex partner of sexual crimes as you have identified and I want to say if a teenage girl supposedly asks a adult man to inset a suppositoy does No one agree that that man should say something like you are abit too old now and should try it tourself at this age?

why does everything need to be questioned, checked, and reexamined? is society getting to the point where the littlest action must be anaylzed to make sure it isn't harmful? isn't it okay to go with the theory that perhpas people don't have bad intentions?

note- i'm not saying everyone is innocent and all things are good/okay, i'm just asking if people must off the bat assume something is askew.

No. everybody is not innocent and surely it is better to question, check. examine and re examine to acertain that people do have the best intentions?
If you have nothing to hide then being scrutinised is only an irritation and if it means we all have to look at behaviours that make us uncomfortable or are so diiferent they rise questions then so waht,, it may be critical in preventing harm.
Also it is worth considering that some young girls can be damaged and not realise their behaviour is unhealthy and it is sadly necessary to consider this too.

I think if we cannot understand something and have troubles dealing with something that feels problematic then no matter how weird it seems opening the issue to general discussion can only be healthy and positive.

We saw through your BS and gave you the correct opinions. There was nothing wrong with father assisting daughter in the application of a medicine,"she asked him to do it as she could not herself", (you know that a lot of people have a problem with giving themselves insulin shots). The fact that we didn't see the conspiracy theories that you wanted us to would mean that we didn't have the same irrational thoughts as you. Your further posts and prudish obsession with your boyfriend's daughter's butt suggests that you have the problem and even your posts since suggesting you made it up confirm that fact.

I would be more worried about the parent who thinks three meals a day and regular bedtimes is bad and then goes on to further complain about bf spoiling his kids and not her.

Administering medicine is best left to the family VET as far as children are concerned . These professionals are used to dealing with wild animals.

Marshbot, I think it's acceptable as well. Parents have to do all sorts of gross things for their kids, some of it involving bums and other intimate parts and there will come a time when the children will have to do gross such as insert catherters for their parents, it just goes with the territory.

On top of it all the guy is a nurse so he's used to doing this kind of thing and being completely impartial about it.
