How to treat a bleeding mole

Ripped off in a bike accident

My boyfriend had a bicycle accident today and ripped off a good portion of a mole on his back about the size of the eraser on the end of a pencil. A small piece is still attached while the rest is dangling off it and it's bleeding a small amount constantly.

As it's Saturday evening and we'll have to wait until Monday to see a doctor is there anything we can do to treat it in the mean time? Would anyone advise ripping the remaining portion off?
Kay
My advice would be not to fiddle with it at all before going to the doctor.
I'd just put a bit of haemostatic cotton (blutstillende Watte) over the mole to stop the bleeding and a piece of gauze big enough and thick enough to prevent the mole from getting torn off during the night (+adhesive strips to keep the gauze in place, obviously).

Yeah, I agree with Kay. Do not rip off or glue on parts of the mole. Just make to clean the wound and wait till he can see the doctor. Hope he is okay besides the mole. Though just that makes me cringe, it must be really painful. ph34r.gif

Rip no, cut yes. Save it for a biopsy though (docs like to do that on moles at this age). Just put it in the fridge till Monday. As for the wound, treat it like any other strawberry. Disinfect it, keep it moist and covered. If you don't have anything to stop the bleeding, a bit of salt will help.

(OK the salt part was a joke, use the strip on a razor that contains the stop bleeding stuff.)

Maybe give the Klinikum Schwabing a call. They'll have it off in no time, examine the removed mole for danger and do a head to toe mole examination for about €50 uninsured.

I agree with Grinner on this one. Just get to the hospital if you are worried.

SAorry I thought you'd run over a mole on the road. I'd say get to the vet...

Or just knock it in the head and put it out of its misery.

hahaha can i just say that last comment, although doesn't help you very much with the bleeding and painful wound on your body, is hilarious!
