Dear Hikers,

Please give me a shout when something/anything is arranged - I'd like to get some fresh air.

(I did send a msg to murfc...)

Hey!
I would also be interested! Please let me know as well ! ;-)

Sounds great!

I'm up for it too. Daytrips on the weekends sound cool. And I could use the excercise (still haven't started using the company gym).

Cheers smile.gif

Hello!

I'm new to the forum but have been living in Cologne for 6 months. When living in Scotland I used to go hillwalking quite a lot but I don't know much about places to go in NRW so haven't been on any trips here. I would like to come if there is anything arranged for April, any ideas about possible dates?

Kyla
gafferlloyd
I've already posted to the people above...

I'd like to set up an initial outing to somewhere like Olberg/Siebengebirge (just south of Bonn, on the Rhein, with great views) - somebody else mentioned this further up the email thread - and I've been there a few times...

Please confirm...
(1) that you're interested in participating
(2) whether you can provide OR need transport
(3) Sunday 13th or Sunday 27th April availability (we'll go with the majority?)

Have I missed anything?

I look forward to meeting some of you, getting some fresh air and speaking in my mother tongue.

My *personal* hotmail address is gafferlloyd - please send a message there!

/Gareth

I'd be in for the 27th, not hiking on my birthday tongue.gif

Both dates are fine with me but I would need transport as I don't have a car. Thanks for getting this going Gareth. Looking forward to it!
Lenou
Hey! I am still interested and would be in for the 27th! I have a car so I could take up to 3 people...
I also heard that there are some nice hiking spots in the Eifel, maybe that could also be an option? it is a bit further away though!
halfasleep
Didnt we do the Olberg/Siebengebirge area on the first trip?...
desiredusername
Oh that's right, I think we did hike there. Perhaps we could try a hike in the Eifel as Lenou suggested.. ?
Lenou
If we don't wanna go as far as the Eifel, we could also go to the Bergisches Land, it seems that there are some good spots there too...
Rebecca
There are some nice routes in the Ahr valley, easily reached by train.

It seems that we now have a second round of recruitment of hikers. Please visit the following site for more information.

Hi, PoD and I would love to go on the 27th, but unfortunately we are both back in blighty for the weekend - would love to do the next one!
aspiadas
Due to other commitments, I will not be able to join this walk this time, but I hope you all have fun. I would definitely reccomend the Vulcan area of the Eifel. I bought
a small guide of the area and it looks beautiful.

I've been living in Bonn/Cologne since October, but have just now found this club. Would love to join on the April 27th adventure, that is, if it is still on and still an open invite. I will try to make an appearance in the Google group as well.
Lenou
@ndrury34: yes, it is still on! We just need to decide where we're going ;-)
Come along! The more the merrier !

Hi all,

Here a link to the Eifel national park
http://www.nationalpark-eifel.de/go/eifel/...maticTours.html

Most of the routes are marked out in the park, id be quite interested to do route 8 or 9 (takes about 5-6hrs)

i think the best way is to get here by car...(trains on sundays take about 2hrs i think)
..Who would be willing to drive and how many passengers can they accommodate?

Hello,

I'm moving to Düsseldorf on 26 Apr. I would be very interested to attend the hike on 27 Apr!
I am training to hike Ben Nevis on 31 May and have lots of practice to do! Is there still space left in anyone's car? I may also have a friend who would like to join. Looking forward to meeting everyone in the group!

Thanks
Cheryl

sorry volks, but what´s the current status of the hiking trip on the 27. April. I´m getting slowly confused...Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

I know it is pretty last minute, but I am planning to head down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (south Bavaria) next weekend (June 6-8). If anyone is interested in joining, let me know.

I am planning on arriving on Friday evening, hiking on Saturday and Sunday, and then heading back to NRW in the early evening. From Cologne the train ride down to Garmisch is 6 hours flat...not exactly a quick ride...there are Sparangebote tickets going €29 Euros each way.

Cheers,

Chris
