Accident on the A9 near the Allianz Arena

As I was driving out of Munich today on A9, just little after Allianz Arena, I saw on the other side of the highway, the one coming back to Munich, several firemen cars, police cars and one helicopter. I didn't manage to see much else; anybody knows what happened? I mean it must have been some pretty big accident to block the 2-3 ways there. The Stau after it was at least 2-3 kilometers long

True that... Longest one I've been in lasted 6-7 hours, and was around 200 Kms long. To top it off it was winter and bloddy friggen cold..

And uphill both ways. Listen to the traffic news and avoid getting stuck.

Does anyone know what actually happened?

It was rather a nasty accident where a man who was riding on his motorbike (one of those with a side-wagon) with his family lost control and crashed on the side of the Autobahn. He died on the scene, children and wife survived.
