Art and craft materials for toddlers and children

Where in Munich to buy them

Hi There,

I am desperate to find some art and craft materials for my toddler. I am searching for paints, paper etc as you would find in a nursery in the UK (presumably also in Germany). Large sqeezy bottles of paint, powder paints, paint pots, rolls of paper, tissue paper, glue etc. Thus far I have only been able to find small trays of water colour paints and small sheets of paper. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase these things? I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Many thanks

Anna

I know that Kaut Bullinger just off of Marienplatz has some children's art supplies (I seem to remember seeing finger paint there). I'm not sure how extensive it is though or if it's more for older kids. But it's worth a try.

Obletter at Karlsplatz has a craft section. You could try there as well.

Try this online store...

Obi has a craft section with a large selection of paints and papers and foam stuffs, even precut wooden things.

Which Obi is that, Carm? I went to the one near Olympiazentrum last night and their 'Kreativ' section was tiny. Btw where can one buy Milliput (putty) in Germany? No luck in Kaut Bullinger, the art shop at Motorama, Obi.. etc.

I got most of my stuff from Jako-o (www.jako-o.de)

The Obi in Oberföhring has tons of stuff, they even have that fimo clay type stuff.
UrbanAngel
Everywhere seems to sell fimo but unfortunately it's not the same as Milliput smile.gif

They did have something called Powerknete which is probably more like it, but it was €8 for a tiny tube, whereas it's 3 pounds in England for at least double as much.

UrbanAngel, is that more like play-dough type stuff? That can be easily made with a recipe and some simple food coloring. I remember making it for tons of craft projects as a kid.

You might check on recipe sites too.

No it's not, it's something you mix with some kind of liquid which reacts and softens, but then when it hardens after an hour it's really hard. Never used it myself; looking for a friend.

Hi,
I'd suggest you try the IDEA Arts Shop which is located at the lower floor of the Mathäser Cinema at Karlsplatz.
They have two shops located next door to each other (one for general Arts & Crafts - the Second shop deals in painting materials) wink.gif

Hi,
you could also try Spielwaren Fischer in Sonnenstraße - it's the side of the street where Kaufhof is, a bit further down towards Sendlinger Tor. They used to have a huge arts and crafts section on the first floor. Hope, they still do ;-))
UrbanAngel
I found Milliput in London in several shops for €2.50 per tube. Bargain!

Drutach - no, that shop has closed down recently.
