Hi there

Does anybody know if there is a pub in Munich where I can go to watch the America's Cup races?
Eurobill
It looks like Sky has it @ 1:30 daily. Check with The Arc or Günther Murphy's. I think one of them has it.
Hitchhiker
Thanks very much!

We had a group of people call in last Saturday afternoon to watch this at The Arc.

What time / day were you particularly looking for?

The finals between Team New Zealand and Alinghi run from 23 June. Thanks for the info, will be in to watch them.

So is everybody ready to watch the first race of the America's Cup match tomorrow? Looks like it's going to be a good showdown on the water. The Swiss are racing their boat the SU100, the latest of the four America’s Cup Class yachts. We'll see how that turns out.

IHT: Sailing: America's Cup Rematch Sails Into New Territory

QUOTE
June 22, 2007 - Yet even with all that unprecedented interaction and opportunity for close-quarter reconnaissance, the sense of the unknown is still intact as Alinghi prepares to face Emirates Team New Zealand in a rematch of the 2003 Cup. It is clear that Alinghi's new boat, SUI 100, which will make its competitive début, is fast. Why else would the team have taken the risk of unveiling it now? But it is also clear that Team New Zealand is running a tight, impressive ship, after what the helmsman, Dean Barker, refers to as "the dark days of 2003."

Go Alinghi! Well done!

cabbagefairy
No!!! Go team New Zealand!
FuzzyTony
Congratulations on the first race, Alinghi. Thirty-five seconds is a solid win. I bet skipper Brad Butterworth will be looked upon as a traitor by his opponents on the other boat right about now. biggrin.gif

Sports Illustrated: Kiwis Even Up Cup

QUOTE
June 24, 2007 - Emirates Team New Zealand sailed to a 28-second victory by overtaking the Swiss yacht on the second upwind leg after the defending champions made a premature tack. The loss snapped Alinghi's unbeaten run in America's Cup finals and gave the Kiwis their first win in seven meetings against the Swiss, dating to Alinghi's 5-0 win in New Zealand four years ago.

Yeah we Kiwis did real well yesterday...lets hope we can keep gaining ground and take that cup back >down under...where it really belongs.
Would Alinghi have won in 2003 without all those Kiwis on board? If we dont win Im just going to be a big girl and learn how to cry quietly
ruapehu
YES!!

Must be the most exciting match ever; I have bitten off all my nails and half my fingers too.

Really starting to believe we can actually "Bring it Home" smile.gif
Timmeh
Where it belongs too. Bloody Swiss with a sailing cup, no ocean, and which they won using NZ sailors...the cheek
Timmeh
Alinghi won to draw even. Lay day tomorrow.
ruapehu

America's Cup stays in Europe

QUOTE
Alinghi won the America's Cup to become the first European team to defend sailing's most prestigious prize.
The Swiss syndicate beat Team New Zealand in a nail-biting seventh race to seal the best-of-nine series 5-2.

After so many nail-biting races I have hardly any nails left, but it was all well worth it! Congratulations to both teams and see you next time!
