Au pair near Augsburg looking for local friends - Germany

Anyone else here in a similar situation?
kaitfaery
Hello Everyone !
I´m an American au pair living in a small village just outside of Augsburg. I moved from Los Angeles a little over a month ago and although I met a couple other au pair girls I still find myself a little lonely here ! I´ll be in Germany for 1 year so if anyone is in a similar situation as me and would like to make a friend feel free to message me ! I´m 19 years old so anyone between 16 - late 20s is what I´m looking for- guys and gals ! I am often in Augsburg because I go there on my free time and I am also taking German courses there 3 nights a week. I also go to Munich some weekends. So anyone local looking for someone to hang out with message me. =) And if you´re German that´s okay too but my German is pretty basic right now so knowing English is a must !

Hope to hear from you soon !

hey! I'm from LA too! and I've also been here for a year. I live in Cologne though, so meeting up is probably not an option. Good luck finding friends. I'm trying to meet people as well, and its not as easy as I had imagined it to be. I'm also looking for a job at the moment, which, although my german is pretty fluent, is a disaster...too many graphic designers in cologne.

Hay CocoLa !

Thanks for your reply ! Which area of LA are you from ? I´m from the bay area, about 5 minutes from LAX ! What brought you to Germany ? Well, I hear the Love Parade is in Essen which isn´t too far from Cologne...on July 7th I believe. If you´d like to go let me know because I´ll certainly be there ! And if you´re ever in the Bavarian area let me know. =)

Augsburg is a short train ride from Munich. Pick an Event and come on down...

DK, have you got an Au Pair fettish, or is it just the high turn-over that appeals?? wink.gif

Hi Kait! I am from Oklahoma and moved to Munich about two months ago to be an Au Pair. I will be here for one year. Next time you are in Munich it would be fun to get together and share stories about our German families. Let me know if you are interested. -Jamie

Hi Everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I just moved to Kranzberg, Germany (a small village near Munich) to take an au pair position. I would love to find some people to hang out with while I'm here, so if you're interested, let me know! It would be fun! Which, speaking of fun, Oktoberfest, anyone?

I do occasionally attempt to organise a bowling, then mexican and guinness evening at The Post in Augsburg. But my organisation skills suck more than my social skills, so nothing gets done. I'll search for a link to the last time I attempted...

Night out in Augsburg perhaps?

Oh dear. I'm so sorry. I tried that, but gave up after a month of being bitten and hit by the the kid and working 70 hour weeks for 300 euro/month. I hope like hell your family's better than mine!

Hey smile.gif I moved to Augsburg in september and could do with meeting english speaking people in Augsburg too. Let me know if you're keen.

Try and update your profile a wee bit so that people know if you are male, female, young, old etc. At the moment the only thing we know is that you are Australian so you are already batting from behind :-)

Hi. I live in Penzing about 40 mins away. I'm a British au pair here and pretty lonely too. Let me know if you wanna do something.

Also are there any au pairs from Landsberg on here? Or anyone that wants to meet?

I never realized how many American (I am from CO) Au-pairs are here! I too was once an Au-pair for about a year and a half and loved my family (so good families are out there, I promise!!). I am now working in Munich, but am about to move to Augsburg. I too would love to hang out and meet new people. Although my boyfriend is German, we still will both be new to Augsburg, so all the new peps we can meet, the better. Who ever is a good organizer...ORGANIZE something...I wish I could say that was me...but I'm not. I will check out the site more when we move and maybe we can all meet up somewhere!

Hi, I'm new to the forum and Germany, I just moved here a month ago with my husband (he's german, I'm American). I just can't believe how lonely it gets when you can't speak the language. I would love to meet up, I'm actually living in a small village outside Augsberg. Please let me know if there is anything in the works. Thanks so much.

Heya!
I'm an Au Pair too, just arrived in Bonn last week from New Zealand.ima keen to catch up with anyone! Even after a week it is getting rather boring and lonely having no one my age(19)around, just to do the norm stuff like chat and drink!!its weird to have a weekend where you dont have the chance to go out and have a few beers, or just chill outside of the house!
I dont mind travelling to other places!
Monique=)
