Mandarin-speaking nanny, babysitter, or day care

Tips on where to find such a person or service

We are moving to Munich next week from California. We have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter who has been in a Mandarin daycare over there and we would dearly love to continue her exposure to the language. We do not speak it at all . ( we're actually Irish )
Does anybody know of a nanny/ babysitter that has the language ? ANY leads would be appreciated.

I haven't a clue where you'd find someone, but if you contact some of the nany or aupair websites/companies that might help. Perhaps ask at one of the international schools? They might know (or perhaps not).

i seem to remember a chinese woman advertising on this site looking for work as an au pair or cleaner or some such not so long ago. Maybe you could try searching through the classified section for the ad.

Or you could hire a Chinese university student who is looking for a part-time job as a babysitter. E.g. you can try www.kaiyuan.de (the site looks scary at first glance, because it is mostly in Chinese. But you can make posts in English or German as well).

Oh, and under "Munich family life" (on TT), somebody advertised "Chinese and/or Spanish language playgroups" a few months ago.

Here is one relatively recent advert: Madarin (sic), English, and Thai speaker seeks work.

(Perhaps the mods could correct the title so the advert can be found more easily.)

Edit: And here is the thread on Chinese and Spanish playgroups in Munich.
