Children's play area at Karstadt Oberpollinger

Or other places to leave kids whilst shopping

I've just picked up a Munich shopping guide at the airport. The guide is dated 1/2007. Basically it's full of paid advertisements from stores in the Munich area. There is a large section advertising Karstadt Oberpollinger, pages 10 -17. On page 11 it states "A toy paradise for children occupies little ones with supervised play while their parents can go shopping feeling relaxed"

I went to the Karstadt with my two little ones Wednesday. I've only been in Munich a month but I believe the toy salesperson I talked to said they no longer had the play area. Does anyone know if that's the case?

Are there any places located near the "Stachus / Marienplatz" area in which one could leave their children while they shopped. I don't mind hiring a sitter; I just need to plan ahead.

Thanks.

There's apparently a place at the Rathaus on Marienplatz. See the related topic: Children's creches in the city center.

There is a possibility to leave the children at the Schrannenhalle on Viktualienmarkt (near Marienplatz) while you are shopping. This is for children aged 4 months - 8 years. Costs 6 Eur/hour for the first child, 5 Eur for any brothers/sisters. Full details including opening times and phone numbers can be found on the Schrannenhalle website.

I believe that the Münchner Kindl referred to in the post above no longer exists, or at least no longer offers this service.
