Can Brits come or is it Americans only?
Elfenstar
I know a Brit who went last time, but he accompanied an American.

Hey, im intrested in going, can anyone give me any personal info about what to expect rather than just the advertising?
eurovol
A lot of political talk and Bush bashing. More of a pep rally for overseas voters and a way to get press coverage for those that have not yet decided to vote. Still can be interesting and is usually fun unless your a republican biggrin.gif

I can see that you were not at the last event in May...John Kerry's sister is not here to "bash Bush", but to represent her brother.

There are lots of people out there that say "ABB" (Anything But Bush), but that only goes so far. It is very important to understand who John Kerry is and what he stands for. You will come to understand why you will vote FOR John Kerry and not AGAINST George W. Bush.

That is the purpose of this event, i.e. pro-Kerry and not anti-Bush.

No, I was in the states in May visiting my sick mother who died three weeks later.

As she was an elected official to the DNC and my father was an elected State Representative, I have been to hundreds of these events. No matter what they are billed as, there will be a fair amount of Bush bashing in the background, even though Diana Kerry will be there to promote her brother and not to bash Bush.

In an election this close, not only do you have to suggest why to vote for your candidate, but why not to vote for the other candidate (condidered Bush bashing by the Republicans no matter how constructive the critisism is).

As no other candidate is a viable alternative, snippy remarks will not help your candidate as not everybody is as passionate about Kerry as you seem to be.

I, for one, will still vote for Kerry as "Anybody but Bush" works for me.

I went to the Kerry event in Munich in May. I had no idea what to expect. I had fears that it would all be flag waving and gung-ho anti-bush'ism. It wasn't at all. Diana's talk and the following question and answer session was all very calm, relaxed, and intelligent. There was some good discussion. It was quite inspiring actually. Seeing Diana in person, and at close quarters, you do actually get a good insight into the Kerry family and can thus judge what John himself as a man might be like.

As for the song and show before Diana's talk, well, that was God awful. Harsh but fair.

anyone going to this shin-dig? i'd be up for it. (get's me out of renovating the new apartment!).
eurovol
elfenstar, PM chewy, I think she would enjoy it more with an American by her side and she seems interested in going.

I would go, but I have tapped out my political donations for awhile. I am reserving what is left for the "We threw Bush out of office and we are safer for it" shindig!!! laugh.gif

If Kerry doesn't get his act together soon, he is toast.

This ain't like the senatorial races or even the primaries, he has got to stand up and stand up now without wavering between this position and that position. Bush is a dead duck in water and Kerry is blowing every opportunity to shoot him one more time. Bush is an idiot and if Kerry lets him get away with murder (pre-emptive war) then Kerry is just as bad and maybe we should have elected Howard Dean!!!
