I think I will check out the shop in Hbhf after the sneak tonight. Hopefully they have the same price as the other book shops. If not, will wait until tomorrow and get it as planned.

Thanks for the tip.

EDIT - opps - meant to be posted on the 1am thread - but am sure they will eventually be merged anyway rolleyes.gif
the tip was that someone saw a poster that they may have it at the book shop in Hbhf after 1am.

Just heard! There will be a reading of excerpts from the new book in Gunther Murphy's
at 21:00hrs this evening.
My source is usually reliable!

Newspoint at the airport will be selling from 1am on.

So would it be possible to just wander into somewhere like Hertie tomorrow and pick up a copy (will the run out of copies and will it be packed ?) or would it be better (less frantic) to pick up a copy in a few days time.

My gf got hers through Amazon this time, just as last time.

The thing is last time it didn't come on release day, it was a day late. ...because of this, it was FREE. She e-mailed amazon, they checked, and gave her the money back, no hassle at all.

So we're hoping for another free Harry Potter book...I think he's worthless anyways.

I thought Gunther Murphy's was closed?

I'm hoping my Harry Potter will be delivered early tomorrow. Amazon has already sent an email saying it's on it's way and delivery is guaranteed. Beats getting up early and standing in a long line first thing in the morning at Huegendubel for me.
Potter-mania. Yeah. Can't explain it, but I'm hooked. I'm really looking forward to reading it. I was thinking of taking my copy to Englisher Garten if the weather's good. Wouldn't mind joining other mad Potter fans there if anyone wants.

Mine have always been delivered about 8 am with the special delivery. Unfortunately, I have a project to finish first with a monday deadline - so I probably won't be able to start reading it (or I would never work)

Argh! Bayern3 just read the last sentence in the frigging 10 o'clock news! Where is my DHL messenger? I want my book!
Topsy
for anyone who can't be arsed to read the book but wants to know the story, loads of plot details including the ending are posted on Wikipedia here - contains spoilers, obv!!

argh! my book still isn't here!!! sad.gif

Same here, and I have to go shopping. I will put Haggis Junior on alert. Of course, she gets to read it first if it is delivered to her ...

I wonder if all those people lining up for days know that book stores sell other really great fiction too?

Just saw on CNN (the place to get all your Harry Potter breaking news) that some counseller has gathered extra volunteers for the weekend to field expected phone calls from grieving kids.
She said something like.. at Youthline (or whatever it's called) they understand that deaths of fiction characters can be as hard to deal as the deaths of loved ones or family pets and become just as important in a persons life. WTF?? She's a counseller?? Of course it's not as important or as hard to deal with, one is real people and the other is a STORY. How the hell did that women get a career counselling children? How messed up is this generation of Harry Potter kids going to be if they can't separate emotional prompts in well written stories to real life feelings and people? Grrr. Disgusting.

I loved the Harry Potter books but I'm starting to get put off reading the last one now.. all this hysteria is a bit nauseating.

Ha! It's here! But I still am not finished with my project ... damn.

They refer to it as good, old-fashioned pixie dust, of course.

Mine arrived at 6 am this morning by courier and I'm proud to say that I've finished it.

I have to say though, to have Harry Potter hook up with Trelawney is pretty sick. She's at least 30 years his senior. And as for the final fight between Buckbeak and Lord Voldemort, ridiculous.

Buckbeak, "Right, come on you!"

I just finished the book.
A coworker of mine told me that and I said "don't tell me" and she told me what the last sentence was anyway! sad.gif I mean it is not like it really reveals anything much but I was completely unspoiled and I really don't get why she did that?! Pffff...

Just finished reading the book about 10 minutes ago. Phew, thanks god thats done with. Now I may read them all again... rolleyes.gif

Haha, I may do that once upon a time, until then I have 25 or so other books waiting to be read. rolleyes.gif Unfortunately few other books are so captivating I don't put them down.

For discussion of the book, go to this topic. This topic will have spoilers I'm pretty certain, so don't read it if you don't want to know.

We're introduced gently to the idea in a previous book, where the three "have their first joint-free day for weeks" ...

Sad I know, but these things catch my eye - has anyone else noticed that Tolkien has Aragorn "tossing off and waking in the night" ohmy.gif
