A rant about tram lines 18 and 38

As if it weren't bad enough that the 18 tram line is chopped off in the middle, it then proceeds to run late because "there's roadworks". Well, bloody hell, that's where planning come in. If you decide to stop at Sendlinger Tor, then bloody well plan it that the trams can still run on time, rather than have them take a 15min break and have none running even though it's a 10 minute Takt.

Then, once punters have got used to missing their S-Bahns because of it, change the rules again. Stop running that 18 to Sendlinger Tor because of roadworks in Muellerstr. and turn it into a 38 to Petuelring because of roadworks in er... Muellerstr. Oh, and make sure it's a bit late just in case people somehow still made their S-Bahn connection. Then change it back to the broken 18 in a few weeks, that'll keep 'em guessing.

I was also affected today by it; not only trams 18 and 19 but now 27 aren't running. MonksTown posted some info about it somewhere. What I didn't find out was that Sendlinger Tor was also closed down for most trams.. fortunately a passerby told me about an Ersatzbus from Müllerstr to Stachus so I could get tram 27 (now called 38) from there.. although also from a different platform which took ages to find since the platforms aren't signposted in the station, and it was around the corner. If anyone needs to locate it, head for Prielmayerstrasse. Why the new number for the tram line though, is that permanent?

Like leaflets and posters announced like for weeks but!

Because of extensive works in the Müllerstrasse, all local trams are buggered (sic) till the mid of July innit.

Some replacement buses a bit innit but you is better off changing onto the Yoo-Barn or Shank's Pony.

What caught me out was that the leaflet that tells you the 18 stops at Sendlinger Tor between 2nd April and 20th July does not mention the fact that from 29th May and 17th June it actually becomes the 38 and doesn't go anywhere near Sendlinger Tor, but goes to Petuelring instead. No, you have to know that you should be looking at a 2nd leaflet, which again doesn't mention the first one. Muppets.

Does anyone know if the 18 tram is operating tomorrow after all the extensive works they have done - I had understood it was to start again tomorrow however there appears to be nothing in the papers or on the MVV site... I specially made arrangements based on the tram running tomorrow...
