Owen Hargreaves may be leaving, but Luca Toni is coming. AC Florence has confirmed that Toni is transferring to Bayern Munich. AC Florence will be getting around €13 million for letting him go, and Toni has a 4 year contract for €20 million. The World Cup winner apparently signed the deal more than a month ago. Article in German
here.
Let's hope that he helps the team get back to high class standard. But even if he doesn't, he'll at least pretty up the pitch. Those Italian boys look good, with or without shirts.

Hopefully Luca Toni will help them win lots. And then take his shorts off like he does when he wins in Italy.

That's not
Gennaro Gattuso you are thinking of Katrina? If it is Luca, I'll have to try and watch a few more Bayern games next season...

It's all of them - some strange pants off tradition, can remember Totti doing it too, that image is burned into my hard drive. *sigh*

Hopefully Bayern flop again! Rather a smaller team do well than Arrogant Bayern. Maybe Bayern could spend more money on producing their own players and training up German Youngsters rather than wasting money on foreign players who likely only come for the money.

I do not understand why they would want to spend so much money on a 30 year old forward already having Makay, one of Europe's most prolific strikers, as well as Podolski while they are stuck with Lucio and van Buyten at the back. Not to mention the gaping hole in midfield left by Ballack, Salihamicic, Scholl, Hargreaves and, ehm, Karimi. And they need a new keeper. Strikers are the least of their problems.

Does this mean Makaay is out now?

i think that comment is unfounded. my friend's son is 4 years old and training the Bayern Munich Kid section. they are doing a lot for children and youngsters. if your child has potential, then knock at their door.
foreign players: i wish we had more or i wish we had more german players with international experience rather than playing in the bundesliga.

He must look older though to exert sufficient authority.

How many players have in the past 10 years that have played for Bayern Munich have come through the academy and how many have been bought? If they were so serious about the academy and were willing to give youth a chance then more would of played first team. I am no Manchester United fan but look how many of their players came through the academy for example in the past 10 years. The problem is Bayern Munich always look for the quick easy option. They have the most money in German football yet waste it. Teams like Stuttgart, Werder Bremen, Schalke, Nürnberg have all had a better season than Bayern with alot less money. Its not what you have its how you use it. This is why I like to see Bayern fail as it often shows success cant be bought. It can help, but it isnt the correct way.

Hargreaves came from Canada, but he came at age 16 and did the youth bit.

Not only Hargreaves... how about Lahm, Lell, Hummels, Schweinsteiger, Fürstner, Ottl (all on the team NOW!)? Not with Bayern anymore, but also Trochowski, Guerrero, Jarolim... These are only the ones that spring to my mind right now, which doesn't really cover the last ten years.

Sort of old news, and no this does not mean Makaay is out, as they will only have three strikers at the mo for next year, Poldi, Makaay and Toni, the rest are all on the list to go.
Bayern are also to put a bid in for Aggar from Liverpool. rumour is 20m Euro
