Two months off for travelling the world

Recommendations on where to go

I have two month off unpaid that I had previously arranged, but the plans I had to travel with a friend didnt work out. So, now I have the option of 1) working (and getting paid) or 2) not working for 2 months (with a job thereafter here) and taking the opportunity to travel around. I have lots of time, not too much cash and a world open. My thoughts were perhaps:

1) somewhere in SE Asia (was there before and loved it--expensive to get to, but cheap to travel)
2) Greece to Turkey and Jordan with maybe Syria or Egypt (cheap to get to but more cash to travel around)
3) Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria and surrounding area.

I am open to other ideas, but would like to get an idea of how much I would be looking at for options 2 and 3. I was hoping to keep expenses in total under 2000 euros. Thanks for your input!

I know some people in Kenya and Ethiopia looking to build a few schools this summer. 6 weeks with a group of Irish volunteers. There may be room if you are interested, though they would expect you to raise a few thousand (through fund-raising) to help with costs.

I am doing Vietnam and Cambodia in the fall. Asia is inexpensive, but also Africa.
There are alot of volunteer chances around the world in some of the 'developing' countries. You pay your flight and they give you a place to live. Had some links, but can no longer find them, but google it maybe.

I'd hit New Zealand and Indo if I had that time off and no worries. Fishing, surfing and maybe some skiing - sounds like a dream smile.gif
