This year's Streetlife festival on the Leopoldstr. will take place from 9-10 June and 15-16 September. The event welcomed around 450 000 total visitors in 2006 and this year's events are also sure to be popular.

Featuring various activities from health and fitness to enviromental displays or live music, the June festival runs from Giselastr. to Odeonsplatz and in September from Gieslastr. to the corner of Schellingstr. - so road users should prepare for diversions.

Streetlife festival 2006 will give you some idea about the event.

Ah yes, you can also buy beer. wink.gif

This festival is a fun thing really. Rather eccentric stands and they often have some pretty good bands playing a variety of music. I'll be peddling down there today with some friends. It looks like it will be a lovely day for it. cool.gif

Didnt find the street festival very exciting. Was crowded with mostly activist or company advertising stands - no arts/crafts, flower stands, etc.

The few things they had of interest:
- If you have kids, they had some giant inflatable jumping rooms, and a pretty cool climbing wall
- Ethnic food stands - we saw cuban, mexican, and vegetarian stands, which was awesome. Worth walking over to the street fair for a grab & go lunch.
- A couple bands were playing. If you're in the mood to sit at a table with a few friends for a couple beers, and its sunny outside, it's nice to have free music (jazz, old rock, etc) playing in the background. However, we didnt hear any bands that were exceptionally great that would draw us over just for the music.

Everything is fun to do once! And the food for us was a jackpot. Just dont go with super high expectations. unsure.gif

Thanks for this info. Dingit, I have an appt with Graham and Graham on the 15th in Schwabing and I don't like crowds. Probably will reschedule my appt.

The street party in June was amazing!!

I really enjoyed the Samba drum team that was out there.
All around a good place to hang out but the second day is a little less exciting.

The Boss Hoss will be playing on Saturday. They're excellent - and put on a very fun concert. Highly recommended.

The Boss Hoss - for those who don't know - are 7 Berliners who pretend to be from the south (of the USA). They speak (on stage) only English and play country covers of pop songs. Sounds kitschig, which it is, but is super fun.

Took a quick walk through today.
The last time the Brazilian Samba drum team were showstoppers. Absolutely amazing. Hopefully they will be out tomorrow because I didn't see them today. sad.gif

Is anyone wandering down there this morning / afternoon? I have to be back about 5ish, but wouldn't mind taking a quick look-see and meeting up with tters at the same time. smile.gif
